    Family Day Kite Festival
Watch spectacular kites flown high above the Marina Green—from the acrobatic kites of world champions to the hand-made entries of amateurs. Free kites will be provided to kids of all ages.
Since 1978, when the FDKF inspired Mayor George Moscone to first proclaim "Family Day" in San Francisco, to 2010 we have been pleased to host thousands of professional and amateur kite fliers, renewable energy advocates and sustainability enthusiasts from all over the world. In 2010 this AKA (American Kitefliers Association) sanctioned festival featured kite-flying, kite-boarding, kite-boating and other examples of windpower as beautiful, educational, and healthy entertainment for families of all ages.
