  1. http://www.gwtwforum.com/index.php Is a forum that has more sales and trades than this one does... You could keep watching there as well. Many of us are on both sites, but this one is the best for learning and comraderie! I don't think I've said this before, but everyone give yourselves a pat on the back. I've learned so much here in the last year and had so many laughs and made so many generous connections here. A sincere thank you to all of you for enriching my life! Kelly

  2. Hey that's me! TK is sneaky with her camera. Flying while slow waltzing through the grass in low to non-existent winds. Would never have thought it possible with my rookie skills. John is a very patient teacher. And I appreciate it. Bill

  3. This drawing is for a UV Buff to protect you from wind, sun and the elements. Here is a link to the Buff product page and the winner can select the color they want. I will order it and have it sent to you. http://buffusa.com/s.../sun-protection Standard Karma Rules and Guidelines apply: http://kitelife.com/...s-please-read/. The deadline for entering the drawing will be 6PM Eastern Time 9/30/2014 Short of a natural disaster or a my wife making me a batch of chocolate chip cookies, which cold delay things, the winner will be posted by 10 PM Eastern Time. Shipping to the lower 48 is covered. A winner from Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada will need to kick in half of the shipping. The drawing will be done using the RNG. Enter by starting the post with "I'm in!" Standard Karma Note from the Moderators: This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling. These drawings are run by and for KiteLife members. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife member from the US or Canada, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber. Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread: http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/ The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares entry into the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post. Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with the entry phrase chosen by the drawing host (Traditionally "I'm in", but "I LIKE" has been used as well). In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with the phrase will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all.

  11. Patience, guys. The flyers in Midwest have been keeping John REALLY busy for the last four days, and are now the best flyers he could make them be. He'll post up your numbers as soon as he can breathe again.

  12. It really depends on how quickly you learn to fly it. If you abuse the kite more then you expect and tear the sail or damage it in any way then you are either going to have to repair it or buy a new one. If you do it with a 1.5 SLE or a standard B series then the cost is not as high. Think of it this way. would you want to learn how to drive in a Lamborghini you just paid for?

  13. I agree with PereiraM. You are not just looking at "1" new B-Pro. Whatever you are flying, or planning on getting, you will eventually want a set (std, mid, full). Again, if you have the extra buck$$$ laying around, by all means go for it. B-Pros "rule"................. I've had Rev I's, SLE's, sets of B's, sets of B-Pros, Rev II's, and sets of B2's. All are great (kites) Revs, indeed, but I've got to say, the B-Pros are definitely "TOPS", but, "TOPS" come at a price. As for your original question.......longevity is a "tough" call. It's all going to depend on the way you fly (and crash) the kites. All kites need a bit of "TLC", however, any of these Revs will last you a long, long time, IF, you take care of them, and keep the abuse (and crashes) to a minimum.......... Please understand, this is just "my" personal opinion...............which is worth exactly what it cost you to read this post.............

  16. Well for me it started back in the late 80' early 90's when I bought a dualie (Fire Dart) from the Key West Kite Company. Went out to Smathers beach and put it in the wind. I was just amazed at the pull it had and how you could control it. I flew this for about a month and then went and picked up a Trlby 3 stack. I flew them for a little over a year. After that I would fly them off and on but life as it does turned me away from kites and so for many years I did not fly. A few months ago a very good friend and I were talking and I was telling him about my adventure with kites down in the Keys and after talking for awhile he said to hang on a sec. He had something for me. He went to his closet and brought back a Prism Quantum. He said he saw someone flying one at the beach and wanted it but never had time to go fly it so he wanted me to have it. I was so appreciative of the gift and the next day I took my son to the beach and broke it out. It was like I had never left it. I taught my son how to fly it. (The Basics) and he just fell in love with it. A couple of weeks later I decided to go and buy a Prism Hypnotist so that we could fly together. My son loves this time with me and I have to say that I am enjoying it as well. We both have started to try and learn slack line tricks and have had a blast helping each other pick up our kites after each failure. I jumped online to try and find some tutorials on some of these tricks and ran across these forums and started reading and watching videos and ran across a video of JB and his Rev. I saw it and thought that it was amazing and precise. I had to try it. I just purchased a B series and took my son out to give t a try. yep you guessed it. He loves it too. My daughters have now become a little jealous about the time he and I have been spending together so they asked if they could come along. I said of course and went down to the local kite shop and bought an HQ Symphony 1.8 for them. It has truly become a Family activity but I do it for the mind cleansing that it provides for me and the time I get to spend with my children. I will never let it go again and will fly until....
