  1. A pair of handles without a kite looks very incomplete, but yet ready for use. I assume that it increases the joyful agony of kite waiting. I have only tried either wrist or finger straps, yours look like some combo. Would you mind sharing what you think of them after some time using them (compared to other straps if possible)? And finally but not least - which kite did you go with (and no haven't tried any of the abovementioned candidates)? Is it so instead that the image hold any clues, Freilein, Spider kites...?

  4. All depends on which mesh and how bad the holes or tears are. I've done everything from a baseball stitch along the tear to the screen patch you can get at Home Depot to full panel and LE mesh replacement. Sent from my iPad using KiteLife mobile app

  5. From the album: HappySuper Moments

What a sight. Steve parked it right at the very, very edge of the window just so we could get her nicely lit up by the setting sun, the golden minute where everything is in golden light. Ran up to snap the shot!

  6. just as an experiment,... next time you are out and it is low wind, making sure your "down-wind" area is totally clear and free of obstructions too! fly the kite to high overhead and turn the leading edge down towards the ground, then release the handles entirely. See how far the kite will glide away without pilot intervention. for me, if I released at 80 feet high (saying I'm on 100' lines) the kite will glide away about 200-250 feet (300%) So there's really no good excuse you can't fly in low/no-wind except YOU'RE LAZY, "you gotta' want it!" At the end of this video is an example

  7. I flew a Reflex (OPK) at the Elmhurst, IL 2nd annual kite festival in low, shifting, unstable wind. It does fly well out to the side of the wind window. It feels "spongy" and a bit slow to react, even slower than a Zen. The inputs for turns and spins require a bit earlier and longer timing, and it has a slight tendency to oversteer. It has slightly more wobble when tracking straight than a 1.5 Rev, I'm guessing because of the movement of the springs which create a "keeled" and then "not as keeled" effect as they move back and forth. I won't make any judgement as far as liking or not liking it, but with 14 real revs and 14 home-made already in my bag, I was not enough impressed by it to add it to my line-up.

  8. The Quantum Pro is probably the top of my list when you talk about precision flying. It is the kite that I measure all the other ones against. The ProDancer is very precise, but it has a narrow wind range, like 0.5 to 5 MPH wind. I would give an honorable mention to the Prism Prophecy, a big kite that knows how to put on a show...
