  1. I would like to offer something up that's a little different, something people wouldn't think of buying on their own, but maybe everyone might 'want'... I don't remember where I got the Prism Kite banner, but it's kinda cool to put out on the field to mark your 'spot'. This package is kind of long, so if the winner is outside of the continental 48, we'll have to negotiate shipping. For example, the last time I shipped a 'long' package to AUS, the shipping was $110 ! The banner & pole are folded down to ~5 feet, but might still be an issue outside of the lower 48. Same Kamra rules... *Boilerplate*... Some rules and guidelines: Don’t play unless you’re willing to put up a prize and ship it to whoever wins. Shipping is paid by the original poster, the winner pays nothing. Be prepared to ship your prize anywhere in the lower 48 US States. Sorry, but due to shipping costs, we really have to limit this to the lower 48 US States. RULE CHANGE (7/31/2014): Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. You can choose the length of the giveaway, but keep it between 1 and 2 weeks. Try to ship the prize promptly. You should be able to ship it within a week, but if you can’t, PM the winner and let them know. Sometimes life gets in the way! This whole thing works on the honor system so if there are any problems shipping or receiving a prize, it needs to be worked out between the two parties. Don’t forget…Karma! This isn’t a competition, but feel free to be generous! If you can only put up a hat, or a tail for a stunt kite, great! If you have something in your kite bag that you never fly and would be willing to ship, that’s great too. Either way, the people that join to win it will appreciate it. When you receive your prize, post a thank you to the thread where you won it. The thread will be locked after that point so the new **KARMA** stays above it. Good luck, and have fun! 2. Yesterday was rough. A day where it was hard to stay human. One where I wanted to unleash the animal and rage. 4 AM my American Great Dane Lady Izzy Bella woke me up in distress. She asked to go outside and I saw she was bleeding from her rectum. She went to one of my Akbash Shepherd flock guardians layed down and would not get up. Got a couple quilts to keep her warm and Beksi stayed with her until it was time to go to the vet. The doc doesn't get in till 7:45 and it was one long long wait. Izzy was one tough girl but passed 10 minutes after I got her there. She was only 4 and I was not prepared for this at all. Doubt she could have been saved had I gotten her there immediately. Spent the morning preparing her grave where she is in excellent company with other lost friends. Had many wonderful dogs in my life. Izzy was the kindest most gentle dog Iv'e ever had the privilege of knowing. She is greatly missed.Got done with my task, not quite knowing what to do with myself. Tried playing some music but it was just sad stuff so I stopped. Really wanted to fly. Winds were running 15 and I knew my concentration would be off. Frustration would ensue, anger would come and I'd probably break something.Popped onto the forum and the kind words and banter is just what I needed. For me when I lose one of my animal friends the 1st feeding after the loss is the hardest. Then the soothing starts to come. It's coming now. Winds are running 8 mph + or- a bit.Going to go fly the White Widow. That glorious smooth flight is much needed this morning. Thanks all.

  4. I made several sets of guts after buying one. Got all the hardware to match the one set of handles that came with it. Think I had 3 sets of innards ...

  5. The added benefit to the WindBreaker is that you can hang onto the wooden 'ears' on either side for a strong grip with a hard pulling kite. They really wouldn't be too hard to make with basic tools & some wood. The crank handles might be a little tougher to recreate.

  6. Sorry to hear of your loss. The loss of Furry family is especially tough, since they are unaware of what's happening to them.

  7. Went to B&S today and brought in the Zodarion for a checkup .. All good to go after some adjustments (Kite is over ten years old)! Looked at the Magnum and walked out with another 36 Sled (yeah it's an with addiction). I'w working my way into the Magnum...

  8. Power Sleds are great reliable kites. I have and still fly a majority of the sizes.. Keep an eye on the rear spar pockets of the 36 and up.... I have had them wear out over time and abuse. Easy patch and back in the air.

  9. One of the hardest parts of adulting is making/taking the choice to end the suffering of a fury family member. Sorry for your loss. Sent from a Galaxy 8 Far Far Down Under.

  10. So very sorry for your loss. There's way too much good company up there waiting for a reunion one day. So very hard losing a family member whether they be furry or of the human kind. Despite her life not being the length it should have, sounds like she was very much loved by you and I bet the years you shared were wonderful.

  11. I like that! Fly, or don't -- the wind doesn't care.

  15. Nope. Hands below elbows equates to more brake line tension without direct X-Y input. Hands above elbows equates to more top line tension without direct X-Y input. Literally, the subtle altitude of the hands (and arms) changes the dominance of the top / bottom in a more subtle range without the volatility of a true manual input.

  17. Thanks for the great tips guys - they were very helpful. I have a set of magic sticks, but I've never flown with them. I'll give it a try. Was really impressed watching Scott use them. John, I look forward to learning more about body position and how this can be controlled. Wayne, here is probably the best video from last weekend -
