  1. Seriously well organized! – Should ensure that none of the essential stuff is forgotten at home. My pre-session organisation is mostly limited to keeping my kite lines etc in a plastic bags: one for short no/low wind quads indoors or street, one for quads on a “proper” field and one for dual lines). The kites to bring I mostly pick on a wind/session basis.

How was this roll-up bag made (or is it more of a packing list?)? I like the area for the snack – a small piece of chocolate that can allow one to go on for an hour extra if required. A chocolate bar is also well wrapped to be handled by “muddy field fingers” and during summer hopefully preventing fat stains on the kites in case the chocolate would melt.

  2. I know what you are talking about when I pilot my happy mad calf oversteering Fazer XL in high enough wind, suddenly making one to end up three large steps downwind. It is the only kite that has made me laugh out ever.

  3. Though I got “a couple of kites” I can’t stop myself when I see a Thor’s Hammer (image) – I get a desire to acquire – but no, my kiting goals are currently going in another direction (and I’m now on a kite buying diet b.t.w. 🙂 ). However I’m much curious on how it is to fly, the feeling and if you manage to get any tricks out of a kite this size. A minor detail, this kite “requires” some known size structure to compare to to immediately see its size.

  4. These eyes speak to me, in a stern and demanding way: ”Have you done your clockwork practice today?”

  5. Due to the many details of the kite, before seeing the picture with the kite on the ground, without a size reference I completely misjudged the size of the kite - I imagined something of the size of a two storey building. Hope that the 14 pin (if I got it right) assembly time is not to long - now I sound totally envious (which I am btw).

  6. Hmm.. I already started doing the disintegration here during the end of the nineties mostly (including two of the LE-connectors)... However the LE connectors that survived the nineties, also survived my kite hibernation period ending 2016. Btw, 540ies are and look nice on this kite - it is still the kite I do them best on.

Happy to see you enjoyed the trip! See you again next time! 👍

Thank you ...and thank you for:

    1. Showing serious DLK-tricking that I otherwise only see on Youtube/Vimeo, but now in real life instead.
    2. Being a good driver of the "kite-mobile".
    3. Demonstrating that spoken Norwegian is not that difficult to understand for a Swede.

Regarding the QLK piloting image, when showing it to my family their "family warm"/honest verdicts were: "You look like a monster", "Horrible", etc... However I don't think that I, in the beginning of summer/end of spring, would have lasted for four full days on the shadeless sunny beach otherwise.

  8. Well my plan for this kite is (by occasional use) more like to take the control as far as I can do. But yes, also to feel the pull without worrying for the kite.  So far I have only been flying it on 40 kg lines, but received a set of 4x40m 75kg lines the day before yesterday so I can commit to a higher degree when "fighting the kite" (pulling hard) in non low wind situations.

  9. You managed to get so much into one photo that I want. First, my B-series mid vent is purple while my std and full vent is lime/yellow like your mid vent here (thus a no match if making a stack). Second, you got tabs along the LE vent -> B-series Pro.? Third, you got a good photo assistant. I almost forgot to say - A beautifully composed photo!!

  10. Very nice looking! It is even possibly a kite (if available) that could make me hesitate for a moment before using it on a somewhat muddy field (which normally would not be a problem). It is also funny, once when starting to think about something you suddenly see it in several places. In this case it is the backward pointing "V" of the panel. I guess this kite is something you trade for or make?

  11. Q: How do I know that Christmas is coming?
    A: @SHBKF makes a Christmassy kite photo!

Great idea that spurs further ideas! Don't be surprised if I have nicked the basic idea the next year (after all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I've heard). Possibly doing something like putting the X-mas tree illumination on the floor/ground, a nice looking kite its back over it (covering every lamp), make a large bow from red ribbon and then make a frame of twigs/branches of spruce following the shape of the kite. Or something else... Why not a Halloween kite? Spider web, spider, soil around the kite kind of slowly beginning to cover it, and a glowing mummy hand (plastic glove, wind paper masking tape around your hand/fingers, cut open with scissors, remove (real) hand and put wrinkled/random transparent plastic foil as padding and  a LED inside) holding the LS. Well no real hurry here.
