  1. For anyone interested, I have a web page for the Cody. www.jimbo64.com/cody which will have a step by step guide to building one like mine. Right now it has a few more pictures of the above cody, but soon it will have it all. I'm building another one with a few changes to the plans, and I'm using it to do the step by step as well. Jimbo-
  2. The second was a 10 foot Cody extended wing Havent flown it yet
  3. I took my crown kite to the beach yesterday for its first flight. Jim-
  4. The diameter is just under 8 feet. its framed in SS P200 spars, cut to 16.250 inches. There are 96 spars in total. The fitting are hand poured polyurethane plastic. It may fly at Dieppe this year, and at the Alexander Graham bell estate, but not by me, lol. I dont get out much (To festivals) so who knows where else Jim-
  5. I built my first SLK over the last 2 weeks. It a crown kite, like Peter Dalphins or Andre's stuff. No flight pics yet, but will have some soon. The fittings are all custom made by me I ended up using purple and burgundy for my kite fittings. Jim-
  6. I have two vertical spars so I could increase the LE area in reverse flight. (the TE) I think its quite a stretch to compare it to any Revs, but thats just me I guess
  7. Here is a picture of the first one. Its a great flyer, but it pulls like a train in 7+ mph winds. So I reduced the sail height a tad (2 inches) and added a 1.5 inch vent to the LE. Being a nOOb to quad line flight, I wanted something that was more stable in reverse flight. So far I think I have it, but we shall see I'm building a third version that also has venting in the sail panels. Here is a video of its first flight, just remember, its my son flying, and he's only flown quad line for about 10 hours at the most Video isnt great quality (Digital camera) http://www.jimbo64.com/kite_images/MPEG-1.mpg Jimbo-
  8. A new quad design I've been working on, this is the second revision. Comments welcome, Jimbo-
  9. Great explaination John, thank you! I havent wound mine up very many times, but I cant believe I never thought to attach them together in left and right pairs Truth is, I'm sure this is one of those questions most noobie flyers wouldnt ask, but need help with. Thanks again everyone, for taking the time to answer, and anyone else with suggestions, please post Jimbo-
  10. Na, this one goes to me (I hope) Jimbo-
  11. Thanks for the tips guys Jimbo-
  12. I'm fairly new to quads, and winding up the lines seems like a nightmare compared to dual liners. Is there a way I'm not thinking of, or seeing? Or is it something you get better at, lol. Any input would be great Jimbo-
  13. My first was a Hi-Flyer "Space Station". I think my next 30-40 were the same 2 hours collecting bottles, and we had 2 or 3 spools of line and a kite. The first year was 1970 I think. I had a rainbow stack of small delta type 2 liners in the 80s, and built a 2 liner in 89 I think? Man our building material options sucked then, lol. Now I'm building them again now, with my son Its a blast...
