  1. I have a lightly used American Eagle kite. Original Joel S. kite. I would be willing to part with it. Feel free to email me and discuss transfer. I knew from his old website http://www.skydelight.com/ that he'd an interest in RC planes...so did a bit of snooping down that avenue. Fairly cool little micro-lites incorporating kites. Of course the sails were the dead give away and then his wife Bonnie modelling err! well the models Well if we can't buy his kites anymore, I suppose its of some consolation, the knowledge that those glorious sail designs live on in another form. All be it accompanied by the buzzing sound of a tiny two stoke engine. My quest to purchase his kites continues, in vain Chris
  2. Yep, my first was an Eddy kite set up for dual line flying. It flies nice and slow. However, it can spin like a top! VERY easy to relaunch after an unplanned landing. Or even if you land it on purpose. I use it for teaching brand new fliers. Just tell them to pull on left line to turn left, and right line to turn right. Then let them have at it. Mine is 4ft by 4ft with 1/4 inch spars.
  3. Hey, I would be more than happy to make a kite for you. However, I am afraid that the shipping costs from Kansas to England would be somewhat prohibitive. Perhaps it would not be so expensive if I were to send a sail, and you could have a friend put in spars that you could buy locally. That way it could be folded and put into an envelope for shipment. You could email me and we could discuss it more, privately....if you are interested.
  4. Here is one Dollar Store kite that I made. And another: And yet another: I like this version even better: This rok was made from a plastic table cloth from the Dollar store. It is a great, light wind, kite. Very light weight. I make a lot of kites from Dollar Store materials. Great give away items for kids at the park.
  5. I enjoy making kites more than flying them. However, each has its place, and one without the other is not an option.

  6. I like your thinking. Keep it up.
  7. I have made numerous kites from Dollar Store items/materials. I will see if I can dig up some photos. And take a photo of my latest. (Two days ago.)
