  1. I think the vape should be treated like smoking was in the 90s. Only indoors in public in places with the right atmosphere i.e bars. Not at the library. Not in line at the damn grocery store! I swear, some people use these things just so they can show off how they can and will smoke anywhere. I'm an ex-smoker, so friends say I can't argue... but I didn't believe smoking should be allowed in restaurants back then, either. Please, take it outside, or go to your car. Your germs are in that vapor you blow out. There's a serious lack of consideration for others where I live regarding these things otherwise I think the vaporizer is an excellent advancement in smoking.
  2. Banter up! Banter on. Oh and by the way? Y'all can stop playing now because this one is mine!
  3. That Symphony will be an absolute blast 7mph and above!
  4. Careful! I'm sure you're aware, you can totally pop one of the cells in your foil... Having said that, I've crashed my Snapshot so hard I took a clump of grass out of the ground foils really are tough. They really are the best way to get into multi-line kiting, in general
  5. I buy 10ft of bridle line- this amount will do the top and bottom leaders, doubled over style. 10 knots per side, starting 2 inches away from the handle, spaced 3/4ish inches up top. Then 3 knots per side, starting 1 inch from the handle, spaced 1/4ish inches on the bottom leaders. As mentioned above, more important that the left and right sides match exactly than the distance between the knots themselves. Oh and, it all works.. some adjust with the top leaders, some adjust the bottom leaders, but, um everyone ADJUSTS, so pick a style and you're set!
  6. Welcome to the forum Captainbob. I started my love of kites on a similarly-sized foil. Kept me thoroughly entertained for a year straight! I love the pull and the speed, buzzing the ground with a 40ft tail and trying for side slides... Memories Based on what I quoted in the text above, I would say that if you were to progress beyond the dual-line foil you might look into getting a Revolution, quad-line kite. Have you checked out any of the Revolution kite videos? S-turns, rolls, pattern flying are all par for this kite, along with helicopter-like hovers, and the added social aspect of team flying. Anyways, good winds to you, remember to ask JB for your membership number as it helps to banter for the monthly drawing
  7. My sentiments exactly zero. It just wouldn't get the love it deserves, hanging there on my bathroom wall... Welcome to the forum!
  8. Yeah JNCO jeans outta sponsor JB. The Buffs guys too
  9. Thanks Pete. I really am hoping it's just going to be a case of what I prefer! I seem to have better luck with the mobile websites than yourself. I find most of the ones I use to be just as easy to use, working well on my Android. Further confusing me lol. I'm also interested in how my hardware is involved. Apps sometimes have processes which run in the background, but use system resources to do so, where the web wouldn't (I think). And you have to store the app on the device. I'm also wondering which one would be more secure. Websites, including the mobile versions, seem to be updated more frequently than some apps (ex. Pizza Hut). Both of them build up the phones registry list... Not sure which one adds more to the registry.. Impossible to clean the registry on a smartphone right now without doing a full reset. Maybe I'm thinking too hard about it lol.
  10. Hello everyone, So many smart folks out there who frequent this forum, I'm hoping someone could help me understand, when using my smartphone for web-based interactions, when is it better to use the app versus using the web "mobile" version of a website? Both seem optimized for smartphone use.. Thanks in advance for any help!
  11. Dance?? I'm the guy flying the Rev looking like he's practicing martial arts maybe someday it will look like dancing... I'm the guy wearing all neutral colors- best to pick me out by my kites:
  12. Reminder!! All banter is worthy regarding RNG.. Being a "numerical deity" might lead one to believe it would not entertain certain types of banter, including repeat banter, silly banter, angry banter, begging banter, etc etc but RNG is a just and fair deity, and will listen regardless! Doesn't mean it will help anyone but it's wise to keep RNG in good spirits, and banter of all types is the way to do it! Sincerely, This month's prize winner 957
  13. Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we ................................... Shameful, shameful............... Hehe, nah, actually both sentences in my quote are true I really never have won a drawing, ever, it would be nice to win something. Even if it is a dualie kite
  14. I'm not interested in winning this kite not one bit! I'm hoping that doubles my chances of winning
  15. Drat, foiled again! If it wasn't for that meddling Wayne, my plan would've surely worked! Maybe RNG is down with Scooby Doo? Not like it's a Rev, anyways it will look nice hanging on my bathroom wall.
  16. I'm hoping to win this one too! Never won a drawing in my life, this would be a nice start.
  17. I wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year! For 2014, I intend to really practice speed control in general, and to slow everything down often and practice holding stopping points/hovers longer than usual. I also intend to recruit some of my dual-line buddies to team fly Revs with me
  18. Never had anything pulled from Vimeo personally but I know someone who has... haven't setup a Vimeo account, maybe I'll try now
  19. Vimeo also restricts based on licensing. ... any suggestions for a different service besides YouTube/Vimeo? Still, PLENTY of people are getting around this on YouTube- I think it's in how you link to the video?
  20. Does anyone know how to get around YouTube's "user has not made content available for mobile devices" restriction? 3 out of the 5 videos I've published can't readily be viewed over a smartphone, because of the music I used, and lately I'm seeing all sorts of cool new vids with music that would normally stop it from being played on my device.
  21. I do the same my friend. Almost all my Rev have 2 frames in each bag. I keep those frames in the thin plastic sleeves, in the kite bag. In fact, I don't roll up my verticals in the kite, I put them in the plastic sleeve as well.
  22. Reminder! Just because it's cold (many places, anyways) doesn't mean you can go without protection! Best to keep covering up, one way or another, year-round. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
  23. (This kite will be) Mine, Mine mine mine, mine mine mine mine. Mine mine! Mine mine mine mine mine mine mine mine. Mine mine mine mine? Mine. Mine, Mine Mine
  24. This is excellent advice my friend. Alternatively, you could lift the top leaders with your index fingers, rather than pinch with them
