"Details are quickly coming together for the kite event at the University of Michigan for the ground-breaking of the new Mott Children’s & Women’s Hospital. Our kite flying teams will arrive in Detroit end of the day Wednesday October 4. We will have rehearsals on Thursday October 5 with everyone in the cast and perform on Friday October 6. Departures will take place late evening on Friday or Saturday morning October 7. The one hour ground-breaking (media) event will take place before noon followed by 3 (15 to 20 minute) performances in a grassy courtyard surrounded by the existing hospital buildings. Approximate show times are 1:30 PM, 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. Our teams will give away 10,000 commemorative kites to hospital and university employees, family members, general public and patients. We will also tour the hospital floors visiting immobile patients in their rooms to perform small demonstrations with mini-kites and give away commemorative kites.

Our performances will be improvisations done to pre-recorded music selected by our clients. No individual solos. Everyone will be costumed by our company for the ground-breaking, hospital visit, kite give-aways and the shows. Please send your pants and t-shirt sizes as well as chest and waist measurements for our costume department to work with."

This event that the Parks are putting on, sounds fabulous. They are brining in Lam, Scott Weiderman, me, a team, and a few others. I can't wait! I don't even have to dress myself! :)

I thought about contacting some fliers and seeing if something was going on in Michigan this weekend, but it's convention week. ;) Any kitefliers going to be in the area?

You're right Penny, it falls during AKA Nationals week :(

Otherwise, I would go to Ann Arbor too!

I think you mean Scotty Weider?

Sounds like a great event for a great cause! :)

Have fun!!

Now that's something not all kitefliers can do.... :) not all.. Egan Davis maybe... but he's got to shave! :)
