yes i know most of you know about the ability of the acrobatx by flying wings, but i thought i would add a newbie submission. i spent the last 10 months (minus a grueling winter) flying a new tech diode with some surprising success but found the things i wanted to do didn't seem do-able. i just received my acrobatx in the mail today and flew it for an hour and a half and am blown away at the difference. i schooled and got schooled. stalls happen at a whim. i pulled off my first half axle ever on my third try!!! wing stab coin toss...done. slides...done, but still needs some work. beautiful axles every time. i could axle on the diode and sometimes do a doofus looking stab/coin toss, but nothing like what i did on the acrobatx in less than two hours. i envy the rest of you who have been doing this for years on kites much better than this one, but i am so stoked right now i can hardly find the words. i love the level of detail in the production of this kite compared to what i have seen so far, again, nothing new to the pros but for broke newbies like me it is priceless. i can't wait until tomorrow when i have 4 plus hours to really try things that i couldn't have done before!!! i still have to learn to put the yo yo stoppers to use, and cometes and jacobs ladders, well, i am not sure if i will ever get those down, but at least i have the tool to do it. i have read a lot of pros and cons of the acrobatx, and i am sure that i will understand them in the future, but right now...i love it. for $69 through "fun with wind", free shipping, three day delivery i have to suggest this heavily for anyone looking for an affordable trick kite. a lot more touchy than what i am used to but that will soon pass. i still suggest spending time with a cheaper ($50) kite like the diode as i think it really helped hone my skills to the leaps that i made today.

any information on the use of the ballast weights would be extremely helpful. please give me your inputs. FLY ON!!!

Just wait till you get a hold of a Benson Deepspace, Prism Quantum Pro or Skyburner Widow Maker. :)

The Acrobatx is probably one of the best tricking kites under $100.00, for the price it is hard to beat. The only real drawback to it is that it is rather heavy and needs a bit more wind to fly than some of the other "Higher Dollar" kites out there but again, its under 100!

The ballast should be added to the bottom of the spine, this helps a ton with roll up tricks like the Yo-Yo. It also helps the kite recover from the fade/turtle positions. It can also help speed up Flick-Flacks too. Usually you can just velcro the weight onto the spine or slide it over the spine under the lower holder (washer style). As far as what the weights do - you should be able to see a difference right away when you fly. In the light winds you will probably want to remove the weights for obvious reasons.

Congrats on your purchase, the Acrobatx is a great kite. The Silver Fox is also an awesome kite and I like it a bit better than the Acrobatx. It is lighter and tricks as good or better than the Acrobatx. It is also available in the 2.5 version and I am really partial towards larger wings.

The foxes do handle nice and may be I just caught the Quality Control at flying wings sleeping the days that they made the kites that I bought. I have had two of the three brake quiet easily and the standard was only in the air for 15 minute. Also I have had a very hard time getting replacement parts from there company.and they charged me as much for the shipping as the part was heck it was just a lower spreader and couldn't have weigh as much as the hugh box that it was put in it was big enough for an entire kite or three . I hope others have had better luck with them

I bought this kite as well to get back into kiting. I like it a lot. I had a hard time keeping it in a fade though. it would sit in it for a bob or two then snap out of it. Have you had any luck with it yet?

I have one I have flown a bit... and it is fun but I do have problems with broken rods. they seem to crack at the ends where they slide over the ferrules. Right now it is sitting while I decide if I am going to buy any more rods. Also... I have discovered Revolution.

I've been flying my Premier addiction 3 weeks now and love it , but felt that i needed a bigger and "trickier" kite. Went online and checked out most of the alt. I looked at :
The Hypnotist , E3,E2, Quantum , the Acrobatx and HQ Jam session plus a lot of other ones. I heard that the acrobatx was pretty easy to fly but not that sturdy.
I went for the Prism E2 ...O BOY on the beach all day today first flight and busted out some back flips , half axels, and yo yo's.(never been able to bust out those kinda of tricks before ) !! First flight. I could not believe it. Snap stalls like nothing.I 'm a newbie as well ,so I can relate to you my friend.
I recommend the E2 for newbies that can handle the basics moves . awesome Kite and really easy to adjust the bridle. It has a little oversteer but that could just be my lack of technique :kid_smartass:
It has updated E2 wing tip tension system. The tensioning loop is sewn in so it cant be lost, and a removable cap covers the finished knot's so there is nothing to snag your lines when recovering your kite from the ground.
Pretty cool.
