Suggestion on 1st Kite

I have been flying cheap Walmart kites  since I was a kid. I'm ready to take it to the next level. However, I'm not sure what would be a good 1st kite.
Here are the few I'm thinking about:

ITW Kymera

Prism E3

Prism Quantum

Revolution EXP

http://www.thekiteshoppe.com/products/Revolution-EXP-Package.html

Prism Zephyr

What do you all think? Should I get one of these or something else?

Budget and wind speed.

The EXP is a totally different animal to the others but will do EVERYTHING in any Rev video you've seen. Has certain limitations. I started quads on an EXP and it was a blast!

I have flown the Quantum and the Zypher.

The Quantum is a fairly "heavy" kite. Needs a bit of wind to get going. Very robust and has some great crash coping mechanisms. Made well.

The Zypher is a lighter wind kite. Not a delicate low wind kite. I found it OK. Response was good, finish was good.

Heard mixed reviews of the E3.

Heard lots of good about the Kymera.

Look for RTF kite packages. Ready to fly. That means they come with lines and straps/handles. If you are dealing with The Kite Shoppe, Theresa is very good to deal with. Tell her what you are after and your budget and she won't steer you wrong, personal experience with her.

Quads or duals, couldn't hurt to get one of each...

With that as a budget - I suggest trying used kites. If you find you don't link up with something, you can resell it for almost what you paid - depending of course on how you treated it! Plus it will give you a chance to try a variety - again to know what YOU like, as far as the style of kite, your expectations, etc. Just watching here for kites FS (for sale) or FT (for trade) can get you into things on the cheap, until you settle into a groove of what strikes your fancy!

I guess it will be the Zephyr

Watching this topic progress I have been secretly pulling for the "Z".  I bought mine when I finally decided to give dualies a serious try.  Mine was purchased with little kite knowledge & lots of raw emotion.  I just got lucky I guess.  It was the first kite that really wowed me. It's still one of my frequently flown kites.  Best wishes on your new KiteLife.   SHBKF

If you're inland, the Zephyr will probably be a good choice. Not as tough as the Hypnotist or Quantum, but still pretty tough for a lighter kite.

Lighter? I would be curious about a weight comparison between the Zephyr, Quantum and Hypnotist/Mirage.

I'm mainly going by wind range, I don't know the exact weight comparisons. I do have all 3 kites, and I know that the Hypnotist & Quantum need a good 5-7mph to start flying, while the Zephyr needs less... how much less ? That's been a subject of debate for the last 10 years, but I can fly mine easily in 3-5 mph of wind. With work, and without the upper spreader installed, I can fly the Z in lower winds, but tricks are out of the question at that point.
