Hi folks. Yeah got interested in kiting last year when some guys let me fly a Prism Snapshot on the beach. Bought a Synapse this year and got to fly a few hours at the beach and now Have picked up a used Peter Lynn Uniq 4 line single skin foil to play with and possibly get into land boarding or buggy riding.

I live in the foothills of NC and am thinking about a good place to fly and practice but winds here are so back and forth might be a big problem to get some regular flying in.  Anyone around the Western NC area please feel free to let me know of a good place to practice and may6be meet some new folks to help me along.

I go by alf on forums but my name is David Cox. I work as a paramedic in Wilkes County NC and need some distractions. I am training for marathon length and longer runs but still need to get out and do some diff things so I hope Kiting will be that other distraction.

Hi alf,

Welcome.  I'm afraid I can't help you find a place to fly.  I'm on the Crystal Coast in Morehead City.  WE fly every Sunday morning at Fort Macon State Park.  We also have a local kite shop, Kites Unlimited & Bird Stuff, Etc.  We're not too close to you but if you happen to get down to the coast, look us up.

Welcome!

I've never ventured "out west" to fly with them, but I've flown with some of the members of a kite club from around the Charlotte area when they came to the Outer Banks. Nice folks and great kiters. They're known as W.A.C.K.O.S, or Wings Across Carolina Kiting and Okra Society. Website is http://www.wackos.org/
