Nekoshi Posted March 3, 2017 Report Share Posted March 3, 2017 Hello! Nekoshi here! I first was introduced to kites when I was young living in California. We would take trips up to San Francisco and my dad liked to take us to fly kites at the Marina Green. I got my first real kite at this tiny store on the pier in San Francisco back in the mid-late 90's, and my dad got a dual line sport kite that we crashed a lot that day. Mine was a dragon style, single line kite with a really long rainbow tail and a white horse at the head. I miss that thing. I had always wanted to fly the sport kites and watched in awe at the pro flyers with their stacks and long streamer tails making corkscrews and dancing about. I once had the opportunity to see some teams practicing which was amazing. However I never did fly that sport kite. Now I'm grown, have a child of my own and I was looking for ways we could spend time together as a family, so last year we all picked up the hobby. My daughter has 2 single line kites, a fancy dragon shaped kite and a delta. My fiance has a WidowNG by Premier and I have the bulk of the collection. A Freebird by Skydog Kites, WolfNG by Premier, an AirWave Zero by FlyingWings and one other unidentified sport kite by Go-Fly-A-Kite that I recently received. This kite is my primary reason for joining this forum but it seems my kite bug isn't leaving me anything soon so I imagine this forum will be pretty useful. In fact I'd like to take the next step into the hobby and learn repairs and maybe eventually crafting my own. I am am not a dual line kite expert but I do have some old catalogs and magazines dating back to the late 80's. On the back of a "KiteLines" issue Vol 6 No. 2 (summer 1986) there is an add for "Go Fly a Kite". The phone number is 1-800-243-3370 and they are in CT. This number is now associated with Skydog Kites and is current. It may be the same business as they are also in CT and report that they have "25 years of experience" they may be able to identify your kite. He was the "artist" for "Go Fly a Kite", designing the catalogs and kite colors for each season.
