I am a fan of the three kites in one graphic. While it may not be the right thing for this particular project, I would like to see it done with just the kite and each of the three kite typed picked out a bit more clearly through color use. I think that that could find future use somewhere.

While is is hard that JB is so clear in what he wants it makes me more interested and excited to see where this ends up. I really like the RWB sports style kite logo. I would like to see that done with a quad.

Riff, can you point me to the source image you're working from here?

@bbailey49

I captured a still frame out of their video SPI 2017 Body Work.. Here's a shot pretty close to my original capture frame. The original capture is the second picture which  was edited to get the truck out of the background.. BTW, it's also the same shot for the other logos I did as well..

Revision to include dogstake...

Now trying to figure out placement of "TKL" in the image, as well as color arrangements.

It seems like the kite line and silhouette and lines are thinner and more delicate in the old white version....and I think I liked them that way. The one question I have is the lack of representation of team....

I'll figure out something to award those who contributed pieces at the very least, couldn't have gotten this far without discussion. :)

Latest draft, just working on fitting in the full team name or URL along the circle somehow.

That's the idea, maybe slimmer text for the URL, made as part of the circular border? (can be made a bit thicker)

Goal is to make it part of the existing circular, less of a "header" or "footer".

Also, what software are you using Riff?

I can send you my AI file if it helps... Good looking curved text seems to be beyond my skills, I do appreciate the help. :)

That is cool. I think it might even be more readable if we could get a tiny space between the words around d the circle. The .com part could also be smaller if needed.

I like the circle of the logo, and the Rocky peak makes me chuckle a little bit...where exactly is he flying??

I think that we should ask some non kiter folk what they think he is doing in the logo just to be sure that there is no odd implications to the logo that we don't see with our kite focused eyes.

He's flying toward the peak, in epic conditions, never quite arriving but always reaching for it with the kite(s). :)

Outside sets of eyes, good call.

It would also be fun to put a kite pin at the end of his lines....could even extend the lines beyond the circle for this. Then you could attach whatever style you fly to the end of JBs dogstake lines.

I like the first version, without the dogstake lines. Cleaner, less busy. What happened to four silhouettes? Have you given up on that concept? I do very much like ACrop's version.

I can be the circle if you like.. I tend to use an old (Pre-Corel) version of Paint Shop Pro. I have the Adobe suite as well but I'm not nearly as practiced with it..

Riff, do me a variant same style with the URL text twice as big (less iterations naturally)? Maybe 4-5 iterations instead?

Not given up on 4 completely, may try resizing the one and adding more.

      FYI...
      https://www.facebook.com/groups/kaijukite/permalink/508909256171273/
We are pleased to announce the start of our Kaiju Video Contest! Entries will be accepted (uploaded to YouTube and time stamped) between April 1st and 22nd, with THREE winners being selected in the week following the close of the contest.

      Terms of the contest:
Venue can be indoor or outdoor, flown on maximum 12’ lines (on an honor system).
Video must be UNCUT, 2 to 2:30 in length with pilot’s choice of music playing in the background near the camera and uploaded to YouTube with this title format:
“Kaiju by Kite Forge contest: <pilot name>”
After uploading to YouTube, just post your video link right here to the Kaiju Owner’s Group.
Fixed points will be awarded for **successful start and exit (or landing)** of the following maneuvers found in our tutorials (you can repeat maneuvers but you only get points for one success each) for a possible total of 40 points:
      Fade throw = 5 points
Up and over = 5 points
      Launch, 360, land = 5 points
One hand flight = 5 points
Fade to catch = 10 points
      Basic rodeo = 10 points
Two subjective scores will also be judged by each of the 4 members of Team KiteLife - TKL (John Barresi, Scott Benz, Eli Russell and Brett Marchel) as follows:
      Technical = 0-30 points possible
      Style / Flow = 0-30 points possible
While the indoor/urban skill levels of the judges naturally vary, all have seen enough to appreciate what they’re looking at... Subjective scores will be averaged between the four judges and added to the fixed points for each pilot’s final score.
      Prizes? Oh yes:
      1st place
      $75 Kite Forge shop credit
      3 year KL subscription
      ($173.85 value)
      2nd place
      $25 store credit
      3 year KL subscription
      ($148.85 value)
      3rd place
      3 year KL subscription
      ($98.85 value)
NOTE: Kite Forge and KiteLife staff are ineligible to enter, as are any clinic / workshop instructors from those two companies.
Again, don’t upload your video until April 1st, but before end of the day on April 22nd... Best of luck to all, go forth, have fun, and show your best stuff - no shame, it’s all in the effort itself!
Video entries may also be posted here on this discussion topic.

We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way.
Repeat of our March drawing, identical package!

Total prize value around $80, I do apologize for not having sizes available to choose from, these are left over from an earlier order as these are what I wear when I'm out "working" in the field(s).
      ==
Remember, you must have an active KiteLife subscription to be entered, but you can sign up here!
Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/359, and will be drawn on Apr 20th, 2018!
