About Me
I am Spencer “Watty” Watson. I have been flying Revolution kites since August of 2005. I first became interested in kites after visiting the Washington State International Kite Festival (WSIKF) in 2005 on a family vacation, and learned how to fly. In 2006 I returned and spent all week keeping the company of Ben Dantonio and Lolly Hadzicki of Revolution Kites. When the week came to an end, they gave me my first Revolution kite. I began flying indoors a year later at WSIKF 2007.
In 2011 I was thoroughly introduced to dual line kite flying by John Barresi with his kite from Into The Wind, the Kymera.
In 2012 I co-founded the indoor Rev team FlyForm along with John and TK Barresi.
As I gained more experience in kiting, I wanted to give something back to the kiting community. In 2009 I created a series of indoor and outdoor video tutorials, aptly named “Windless With Watty” and “Windy With Watty,” respectively.
In 2008, I began competing in Experienced class Multiline competition in the Northwest Sport Kite League (NWSKL). In 2010 I placed first in the Experienced Multiline Ballet at the American Kiting Association’s (AKA) Grand Nationals in Seaside, OR. I am now competing in Master’s class of Multiline competition, and performing in events around the world.
