  5. I was at an indoor "thing" Friday and heard Wala was much heavier than the Skate. I just weighed my Wala against a borrowed Skate, both of which have recently been flown on the sand (it always gets into to some pocket or crevice) and my rough findings are Skate = 62 g and Wala = 95 g. That's roughly 6 US nickels (not necessarily $0.30 though) of weight difference. They are both good kites with very different aerodynamics. Perhaps life is too short not to own every glider kite out there
  6. The last post was from Paul de Bakker if you hadn't figured that out already. I asked him to step in and straighten this out and he just set up his profile today it looks like. Thanks Paul!

  8. The Wala XL doesn't seem to be readily available in the US yet. Once they are and if there's a competitive price on it I'll probably add it to my collection. I'm going to build my own glider soon and will use the footprint of the regular Wala as a starting point.
  9. Thanks for the tip Wayne. I know a US nickel is exactly 5 grams...if we were to redo our currency system a dime should weigh exactly 10 grams I had it out yesterday in a bit higher wind than I should have but wanted to try it since my latest modifications. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. Thus far the most intuitive and easiest of the gliders I have is the Wala. The Zero G is the hardest and the U-Ninja and Horvath Hybrid 130 are somewhere in between and the iFlite's 1 & 2 have not had much air time yet.
  10. I used the designers plans from scratch. I thought even the kit was way too much. Some of his other models are for sale via Amazon...not the Ninja though.
  11. This was the first flight off the workbench so haven't tried anything fancy yet. I thought I saw somewhere that someone is making replicas of these. I would not recommend these as a first build to anyone although they aren't that complicated.
  12. I was pretty frustrated with the build and would have just bought one outright if they weren't so much money. I'll build at least one or two more with some modifications after doing my best to follow the original plans exactly on this one. Seems like it's going to be a good flyer.
  13. Thanks Wayne you just cost me a bunch of bucks (They had a Rev I've been wanting at a really good price) My wife is not going to be happy with you
