We’ve officially hit the busiest part of our season here at Kitelife with events of one kind or another every single weekend until AKA Nationals in October… Aside from the travel involved, we’ve got two daily updates in the works (WSIKF & AKAGN) plus the usual work on our bi-monthly ezine and the next volume of Kite Lines which needs to be scanned in and processed.
It’s been a great year, with a resounding on-field response to what we’ve been doing with the site… Truly, your comments, input and suggestions fuel the process, making it all even more worthwhile.
One of the hot topics here in the office right now is quad pairs and team… Growing rapidly here in the Northwest USA, we’re seeing an incredible response from spectators every time which has driven me to form a full time quad line team that you’ll be hearing more and more about as time goes on. Be sure to check out this issue’s REVisions article for a taste of what I’m talking about.
Despite attending so many events, things have been surprisingly slow on the subscription end of things. Considering we see an amazing number of video downloads and upwards of 80,000 visitors per month, only a minute percentage of them actually participate in supporting the site… We’ve revamped the members area and added a whole bunch of content (including iPod videos), now is the time to sign up!
Regardless, we do it all for the sheer love of kiting… I’m just glad to have people visiting, and learning about the wonderful world of kites in the USA and abroad.
We’ll be publishing our 50th issue on October 1st, with over seven years of content in our archives… We’re going to do our best to “ramp it up” for the next one, so be sure to stop back regularly and see what we’re up to.
