Issue 53: From the Editor

Welcome to yet another issue of Kitelife, published just as we’re getting into the full swing of this years kite season across North America… While we haven’t exactly jam-packed this issue with articles, we’re quite proud of the content quality we got this time around and hope you’ll enjoy reading it at least as much as we have putting it together.

Some exciting stuff in the winds at the moment, with a kite show being in the early stages of development for Red Bull Air Races around the globe! There’s been talk of “kiting will never make it to mainstream” but I’m here to tell you, it’s happening and we’ve got a great chance to expand on it… Read “Riding the Bull” in this issue for more information and photos from this exciting project.

Yes, our Kite Lines archival project has stalled for the last couple of months due to the pressure of other duties and projects, but the last six issues are sitting by the scanner faithfully waiting for us to finish processing them… Please be patient, the collection will be 100% complete soon.

2007 promises to be yet another full year for Kitelife, with over 30 events already on the tour schedule, from Oregon to New Jersey, Texas to Michigan, Budapest to Acapulco… We’re making an effort to meet, greet and get involved with as many fliers around the world as possible… With all sincerity, I hope you’ll be among them.

As always, I heartily encourage each and every person who visits Kitelife on a regular basis to seriously consider becoming an Official Subscriber, help support Kitelife and the promotional efforts we’re delivering around the globe, receive entry into our monthly prize drawings, and much more… It’s hard work to maintain a site of this size, only possible thanks to those who recognize and contribute to our projects.

Cheers, good winds and I can’t wait to meet up with so many of you out there in kiting world… Thanks for flying!

Cordially yours,

John Barresi
