Freestyle Competition Format
As some of you may be aware, I’ve been formulating a Freestyle Flying competition format over the past few months in an attempt to create a new kind of competitive kite flying event that’s in keeping with the whole trick/frestyle movement.
We’ve tried it out at a number of UK festivals this season and have learnt a great deal from the successes and (occassional) failure. I’ve taken these thoughts and experiences and have written a set of rules and guidelines to explain the format and hopefully provide a good starting point for future evolution.
These are available from my web site:
(Please note that there are missing page headers, home links, etc. Anything else is *probably* unintentional 🙂
I welcome comments, suggestions and ideas on the format and on the rules themselves. I’ll be trawling through any feedback I get in a couple of weeks and updating the document to include any changes.
International Rulebook Website
The IRB website http://www.worldsportkite.com/irbc-rules/ has been updated as follows:
– You can download the International Rulebook in any of these formats * MS Word 95 [.doc] * Rich Text Format [.rtf] * Plain Text [.txt] * Word for Macintosh 4.0 [.???] * MS Works 3.0 [.???]
– A new page has been added showing the chronology of changes in the make-up of the International Rulebook Committee. This is quite sparse at the moment [only one entry] but Paul Reynolds has passed me some more names now and these should go in next week.
– Simon Dann is now formally included in the IRBC mailing list. Sorry that it took so long Simon.
Please have a look and try the downloads. If you have any problems, let me know and I will sort them out for you. Also, is there anything that you websters think should be added to this website. If so, email me with your ideas and I will see what I can do with them.
