  4. I ordered one. It will be delivered on Thursday.
  5. The ITW Hata is ready to fly, with a basic line of (something like) 300 feet of 20# or so on mine. I was flying it today, and it is a steady, easy to fly single liner with the velcro'd tail attached, and quite a bit less stable sans tail, as a fighter should be. It is easy to fly from the hand with the tail as one might expect, but a second person would be useful for a launch in fighter mode at least in the early stages. I used the netting of a soccer goal as my assistant, but have also used a sideline bench, my kite bag or even a hole in the ground for the spine tip such as today (the field had been aerated recently). I used some 9# cotton line from India that worked pretty well, and is lighter than the line that comes with. The standard line should be fun enough for a while if one wanted to keep the order simple. Quite a hoot, really, and the $20 price tag is great value for money in fun. . .

  7. Kite Loft video link goes to Roadlife food adventures.
  8. Well said Riffclown, and very true. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  9. I was in Chennai a few years ago. Sunday evening of my arrival was fascinating. Kites were being flown on every building after 4 p.m.
  10. Last week
  11. Quick 2 minutes worth of video. Winds less than 5 and dropping to much less than 5. The kites in the background are indicative of the conditions..
  12. I talked with him a bit and he explained that I might find it pretty challenging. He was flying it low but with a lot of movement.
  13. what you see is pilot skills, usually fighter kites have an unbalanced bridle make them to have a left right movement. all that crazy fly evolution is pilot input on the line depending where is the kite nose and in what direction pilot what to send him. the main reason for that is to cut other lines or to make other kites to fall on the ground
  14. I saw one yesterday flying off and on at the kite festival. I like the way it flies. It's different and interesting.
  15. I believe it is RTF, but....... If you plan to use it as a fighter, I'd suggest getting the 2 fighter lines they sell. Those lines are specifically designed for fighters, easier on the hands. Probably need spools for them too, but look first.
  16. I tried to contact them online but their online form doesn't work for me today. I'll call later when I have time. I am interested in whether the red Hata is ready to fly or I need to order additional items with it.
  17. Speaking as one of the new sponges in the room here to soak up all your wisdom, I'm very grateful for the advice given. Not all has been applicable to my circumstances. Some has been a little over my head. Other bits of information I've decided were better tucked into my back pocket for when I'm ready to use them. All of it seems to have been offered from people genuinely wanting to assist me on my journey to "the dark side". I stopped flying years ago when I began to take it too seriously and it ceased to be fun. It's fun again... well at least for me it is. My wife is starting to wonder if she needs my pre-approval before making vacation plans so I can verify there's a flyable field nearby. I'm happy to say both her parents' houses qualify 😏. Having this community to share this journey with me makes it all the better. From a newbies perspective: 1. Going from a Rev1 with unequal factory lines and hog rings on the handles to equal lines and TK Pro Leaders the kite will fly with no further modifications to the bridle. Stop checking on new answers to your post! Go out to your nearest field and try it for yourself (he finally says to himself). 2. Yes, the short lines weigh less and should give you an advantage in low wind conditions. But, you're new and still have a tendency to over control a lightly loaded sail. That extra altitude could give you room to recover? 3. The two-wrap rods are already worth the investment. Three times started out flying with them and three times the wind picked up and made them unnecessary. Upon retirement I might just travel the Eastern Seaboard toting those rods and leaving happy kite fliers along the way. 4. Fly with a smile in your heart. The kite knows and will respond accordingly!
  18. I`m in if you don`t mind, Ive been looking at the Quantums. Beautiful kite.
  19. Thank you for the addition, I`ve been flying slk`s for a couple years and have decided to take the leap into dual lines.
