I agree, so let's get this conversation going.
With the recent realization of sub standard spars, the Reflex, and no more B's, it seems to me that Rev is going a direction geared toward casual fliers. If I am correct, it saddens me that Rev is leaving the people that have supported them for over a quarter of a century in the dust.
Rev still has the EXP and non-B 1.5 sails so bridles won't be an issue for the 1.5s, the spars are a concern as are pieces parts for the 2s and 1s. Boutique sails are an answer I suppose, but of course those are quite a bit more $$$.
For me, the first thing I think of when wondering why certain business decisions are made is "follow the money". I certainly understand the addition of the Reflex; from what I've read it's a lot easier to get going with it than the Previous versions of Revs. My question in regards to this is why alienate the majority of Rev fliers? Why not cater to both casual and serious fliers? From various sources, Rev is also taking a tone that is making valuable entities that helped Rev get where it is today not being an entity anymore. Could it be the Bs will still be produced, just without the B logo?
The following is all hear say, so take it for what it's worth: Rev is also making things harder for their vendors as well as trying to take their marketing more via social media. For those that follow/ed the RevKites forum, I've mentioned in a Club 38 thread that I don't think they have or are handling their social media well at all. Again, that is based on second hand info.
I hope Rev gets their stuff figured out for both their and our benefit.
Got to meet Lynn at ODSKC this past weekend, one familiar face in the crowd! Can't wait! Might there be kites in the B nature available for sale? I found that I need a Rev SUL with 50# line after this weekend too!!!
