  1. Correct. relocated last fall. Just now getting out. I didn't think it would be so hard to find an open flat spot to fly. Spent a nice day at Lincoln City flying at the festival. Was great to get out in beach winds. Now I've developed a taste.

  2. Here is a picture of the first flight of my wife’s first attempt at making a full size Quad line. It flew great in a moderately light wind. Sail is 3/5 oz Spinnaker cloth from Seattle Fabrics. Art is hand drawn using Sharpie permanent markers. IMG_0973.HEIC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. I bought a Freilein Exodus Max because I was curious and liked the look. (and it was I could afford at the time) I've been pretty happy with it so far. The construction appears to be very good. Some things I like more than others and there are obvious changes to cut down on costs like the T fitting to hold the vertical spar, but they compensate with tape on the sail to protect the vertical from rubbing on the sail. Haven't had any problems with the carbon fiber frame either. I think it's a decent kite for the price. I just flew it last weekend at the beach with 20-23 mph winds. full brake and all the way out on the top leaders and it handled pretty well with minimal flexing. not prime conditions, but I was happy enough flying all day.

  4. Yes. Figure proper tension at about 1/3 to 1/2 between zero and completely stretched. Should be approximately the same amount for all six points around the sail. Of course, the ones opposite each other naturally equalize. You just need to keep the bungee lengths on the left about equal to those on the right to keep the sail centered on the frame. If you have more sail on one side of the frame, that side of the kite will want to move faster than the other. I think the Djinn will be available in about 3 weeks and probably in all versions, but I'll let JB definitively clue us in on that.

  5. Depending on the wind range you are looking for the following could all be great options. Midvent B Series used Vented B Series Used Freilein Vertigo Max Eliot Shook 75%

  7. at Wayne recommendation i will ad 2 options option 1 - any mid, full or extra vent sail will do. full vent with a light frame and 50# line will fly like a mid-vent using some footwork. 4-5 days per year you will need that extra-vent. option 2 - buy any full sail is cheap and make the vents yourself using a soldering iron on any pattern you desire how long you have the same percentage left-right of the sail

  10. Next time out just put the bottom lines on top. They will stretch and pretty much equalize after a few flying sessions. You can check as you go. Tighten the bungees on the verticals on the top (leading edge) first so you can keep the top endcaps sticking out no more than 3/8 of an inch, a 1/4 inch to flush being ideal. This way there will be less sticking out to catch on stuff when you are sliding while inverted. Dive stops are a gas, aren't they?! Try pushing both arms towards the kite briskly when you hit the brakes. This will take the bounce out of the equation and give you a true dead stop. So many things to improve your skills. That's what makes it a lifetime learning situation and a lifetime of fun.

  11. I just use little pig tails so I can remove the lines easily on all my kites. Particularly on my power kite lines when I'm wearing gloves it makes it so simple to do. Short bits of 150 lb dyneema fishing line with a simple overhand knot, sealed with a cigarette lighter and larks headed on.
