  1. John, Here is a link to my video files just uploaded to YouTube. This is the 1993 AKA convention. I also uploaded the files from the 1992 Northwest Regionals, and 1993 WSIKF events. I placed them in separate playlists with index in the description. Let me know if I can do anything to improve upon them. I was a novice in those days, and didn't capture everything I now wish I had. Please feel free to share the url's wherever you wish. Oh, sorry I spelled your name wrong inside one of the videos. I corrected it in the description. -See you in Long Beach next week maybe. I'll be with the blokarts and buggies. -Steve Irby

  2. I've watched Lams videos of the Silver Fox. Awesome as all of his videos are.Winds will be around 20 all day. By 5 pm going higher. Went up this morning for 1 1/2 on the Mind Trick vented. First time using my fully padded straps with the MT. Really like them a lot. The way the winds are here I'd probably have a 1/3 less flying time with out a quality vented. IF (crossed fingers) the Solus gets made this fall it'll be the UL.Much as I love my UL and SULs I want a bigger kite for a different experience. I've flown me Tekken SUL to 18 mph. I'm not to smart either. Fun though and the kite handled it. Will not repeat cause then I'd regress back to stoopid.

  3. @Breezin I took as a nice compliment from context.

  4. So a review of the diamond kite... I meet riffclown at jockeys ridge state park on Saturday. He was willing to drive a hour and a half to meet a fellow flyer! What a great jester. Day started with winds in the zero to 1 mph range. I tryed the smaller b2 size first on 13" handles and 50' lines, found it was too light of wind. But then put the hive on a set of 120' line and 15" handles, and the kite was amazing and the wind picked up to 1 to 2 mph. Riffclown's work is amazing and a tremendous flyer as well. As the day progressed we had the winds pick up and I became more comfortable flying. Yes I know I a guy who could fix the kites but I still am a very careful although the kites are built for a bearing. The added reinforcement at critical places really make a difference. The kite is a little heavier on the lines but saw some amazing glides in the slightest breeze and with time I know I can do the same as well, as I have the proper equipment (kite) to do so. So dont believe by first looks and believes that it's a heavy kite it is not. The kite is constructed to complement the added weight, with the construction of the sail. Now when I got back home and washed the kites from the sand, I went over the kites with a fine tooth comb. The build quality is simple amazing! Ranking with some of the best builders out there. I can say this because many that know me say I'm more of a collector then flyer these days and I'm always looking at build quality and construction for new ideas. The diamonds all come to a point the rows are straight and it is symmetrical from side to side if asked to be constructed that way very nicely... I can not say enough nice things about this kite and riffclown. If you get the chance to fly one you won't be disappointed Hope I did ok for my first review, anyone have any questions please ask!

  5. For those flyers that lust after a Lam Hoac-designed sport kite, but can't afford the price tag when starting out, Lam has entered into an agreement with Flying Wings to totally redesign the Silver Fox line-up of kites. I have several of Lam's newest AC kites & they are incredible kites, to say the least. I decided to try one of his new Silver Foxes to see how it compares to his own hand-built kites & the flight characteristics & QUALITY are spot on!!!! Keep in mind that Lam has done the redesign, & Flying Wings has done the manufacturing to Lam's specs. What is really exciting is that Lam then takes these manufactured kites & puts his own little performance tweaks into the kite. The kite is available now in either a Std or SUL version, & I understand Lam will have a Vented version in the fall (if not sooner). The price? around $200, which, for a Lam designed kite, with his tweaks, is a steal!!! Below is a photo of the kite & its graphics.

  6. Version 1

The basic Rev axel, performed with a Revolution 1.5 in 3-4 mph winds. In this case, the trick is demonstrated in a left to right inverted hover using the new Barresi Signature Series Rev, with a 3 wrap frame. NOTE: A reliable (and free) cross-platform video player is VLC, which should work with any file format including MKV.
