  1. Hey all, I am headed to Ocean City MD on Sept 19-20 if anyone is around to fly quads. I know, I know the real fun starts Friday, but I only get Wednesday and Thursday. Anywho, if you are around and want to fly I'll be flying as often as my kids allow. Am aiming to do a night fly after they go to bed. Hope to see someone sometime.... 2. Probably a dumb question and its probably been asked a billion times but here we go When your flying a 2 or 4 string kite (i'm flying 2 strings) and the kite does a full circle in the air to the right .... lets say it does four full circles in the air to the right - this would mean the strings are wound four times in that direction and the way to proceed without causing a huge mess with the strings would be to immediately do four circles in the opposite direction (the left) .. Is my thinking right here?

  3. So i ended up ordering the big buzz flexifoil for my first kite. I was concerned about the material of the lines (dyneema?), so I called flexifoil last week and spoke with someone who told me it was dyneema that has been pre-stretched. This surprised me as I have read a few people here on the forums who were unsure of its makeup. Anyone have any comments here? Now im waiting on it to arrive. I'm hoping that in low wind times it will be flyable by my Son.

  4. I think he's urging Breezin to learn quad-line.

  5. Stay away from polyester, nylon, or dacron lines for stunt kites. Stick to spectra lines - LPG (Laser Pro Gold), Shanti Speed, or Shanti SkyBond. Andy at Ocean Shores Kites also markets his own brand - (still spectra). Good kite line is expensive because of the material used and the quantity needed. The weave is much tighter in good line, giving you a better connection to the kite. Poor quality lines almost feel like it takes forever to get the kite to do what you asked of it. Just remember - your lines are the only connection you have to the kite - don't skimp on them!!

  6. from tension on the lines and leading edge of kite facing up-right,...... thumbs up, step back, lower your hands, hold the handles softer and closer together too. Relax, this is fun, breath, learn the cartwheel technique first so you can roll-over from inverted. only four moves are possible,.. 1 both thumbs @ nose= forward (NOT up), 2 both thumbs @kite=reverse (NOT down) 3, one thumb @nose =clockwise rotation (not a left turn!) 4, other thumb @nose=counter-clockwise rotation (not right turn) So the kite doesn't go up and down, and it can't go left or right, the controls are minor influence to major impact at the kite. Try softer,... and add in some body position movements and your feet don't have to be stationary either! you'll love the quads because they can fly anywhere anytime any conditions,... you just gotta want it bad enough!

  7. If you want you can send the Q Pro here. I'll fly it for you at least 3 times a week for a year and keep a log on all the damage occurred ⚰️.Might cost you more sending me spare parts than the project would be worth though LOL.Try to beef up the battans so you don't lose them on the Hydra. Did it when I first got the kite. ITW did the next patch but one is already out. Sitting on the shelf and I can't tell any difference flying without it. Think the issue is more from roll ups than anything else. Cut the sleeving on one extended leader. Did a cheap tape repair but it didn't hold up. Going to put some heat shrink tubing on both leaders to keep it even. If that doesn't work I'll cut them down and keep it going. I have had an absolute blast with my Hydra. Flies lower than stated. For me not very sedate in flight. Always seems eager and wanting to go, go, go. I seem to be wearing it out faster than my others. Think it's me not the kite.

  8. Me too. Really irritates me at family reunions 😬. Tried Facebook quite a while ago and was not impressed. Supposed to be a lot better now BUT burned once. Now I'm looking at where to put my kite videos and thinking about Facebook again.

  9. That is a fact, however it’s also possible to force select companies to a new standard, and to raise pilots to a standard where they are using their equipment more thoroughly and aggressively, thereby balancing out somewhat... I know, I know, but I only work forward, not backward. 🤘

  10. Or, if you must land, spin the handles or the straps in the same direction until the lines are no longer crossed once the kite is on the ground. In time you end up with a good idea in which direction they are crossed without having to think about it. It starts to become second nature with time on the lines. You can also spin your entire body to the left or right around if you want more exercise.
