  1. Not an uncommon thing... All my Sea Devils have those cuts, but they don't spread or get worse, in my experience.
  2. Sweet... iQuad will thrive on the "lake flying"!
  3. Aye aye! Working on the first update as we speak... Photos, video and highlights from day one of our coverage.
  4. Right-o... In Des Moines now, unpacked in the room. Forgot to unlock issue 50 of Kitellife before I left, it's available now. http://www.kitelife.com/archives/issue50
  5. Just a heads up folks... We'll be doing daily updates from the 2006 AKA Grand Nationals and Annual Convention this October 2nd through the 7th... Check in nightly during those dates to access reports, highlights, photos and video clips from this incredible event! If you've seen our past updates (WSIKF, World Championships, etc.), you know this is a Kitelife feature that shouldn't be missed. Just a few of the highlights at this event: ... Mega quad fly, or "Quadapalooza"! ... Well known and respected kiting guests from all over the country. ... Mass ascensions of various kinds (cellular, inflatable, etc.) ... Full coverage of banquets and receptions. ... Sport kite competition results, all week. So, starting this Monday night... Check it out here: This is the kind of thing that Kitelife prides itself on... If you dig these types of services, PLEASE, consider becoming an official subscriber and support efforts such as these! Not only will you help us keep on providing the best kiting the web has to offer, but you'll get great monthly prize drawings, larger (720x480) videos, special "subscriber only" videos from around the world, 100MB of photo storage in our online gallery, and more! http://www.kitelifers.com Subscriber or not, if you'll be at AKAGN this year, look for the Kitelife and iQuad banners, come say hello... I'd love to meet you! See you all on the field.
  6. You could put small dacron pigtails on the spectra bridle, near the line attachments... These will provide a bigger knot to work with.
  7. Try Kitelife issues... After the event reports, under coming events... "Festival/Comp Schedules" Never mind the actual coming event articles themselves. Sorry, had to needle ya.
  8. Indeed, treading water on my workload at the moment. The contest will go through October 1st, and I'll review them all after I return from AKA Nationals on 10/8... At that point, we'll choose a winner. If yours is chosen, we'll work on modifications afterwards. Thanks for checking in.
  9. Wow, FOUR indoor competitions... Lots of points to be had!
  10. I'll be there 10/1 to 10/8... Staying in my room, the Geezer and a Monkey. We'll be working as a trio on the Kitelife daily updates.
  11. Shannon doesn't get to fly a whole lot, but loves it when she gets the chance.
  12. The problem I'm running into is time limitations... So much on my plate right now, I don't see having the time to do this myself until December. If one of you can do the actual set up, I'll be happy to take a look and put the Kitelife stamp on it if it meets my approval. I love the chat idea, just having trouble getting around to it.
  13. Yes Penny, you DID win a UFO... Listen for the phone call.
  14. Hi Paolo! Wondered where you've been, during the last couple of San Ramon events... Great to hear you're back, looking forward to flying with you again.
  15. Got your email... I'll check FTP tomorrow, thanks. Was sitting at the ferry terminal on Whidbey Island (WA) on my way back from an event at the moment... Thank god for WiFi Forgot to send this message while I was sitting there... Now it's Monday, trying to catch up.
  16. Thanks hon. FYI ya'll, ShiningShannon is my sweetheart... And a pretty decent Rev flier too.
  17. Sounds right... It's an "overhard" move, to fold the kite over on it's wing. Practice, practice, practice. Sorry, I suck at text descriptions of how to do stuff. Matter of fact, I'm still having trouble explaining the snap lazy, insane and rolling cascade... Even in person. But I can demonstrate the heck out of it!
  18. MAC compatible... CuteFTP, it's my favorite on Windows. http://globalscape.com/cuteftpmac2/ A well known FTP client, you can download for a 30 day free trial.
  19. Around the :54 and :55 mark, I see a snap lazy to landing (kombo), and then a rolling cascade. At 3:02, all I see is a forward snap to a single insane... Kind of like a snap lazy, but rolling forward into the "fold" instead of dropping on it's back. I like to do that last move on one edge, exit and fly to the other edge, repeat, to the other edge, repeat... If done right, the kite gets about one kite's width lower on each pass, or a little more. Does that sound like what you're talking about?
  20. He does get kite lessons behind your back every now and then...
  21. Ah, I know Kitelife doesn't like web browsers for FTP... Do you have an FTP-specific program?
