  1. To be quite honest, I don't have any experience with the Pyro... Although, I'm sure someone else here might be able to comment on some of the differences between the two kites?
  2. Oh, and get some 50# lines too... Makes all the difference in the world. Ed, are you going to WSIKF? If so, I should put you on the mega quad team list... We have 20 lined up right now.
  3. No such thing as a stupid question here, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Indoor kites provide ultralight abilities, versatility, and a little more durability than an ultralight "outdoor kite"... The outdoor versions are generally higher performance, but tend to be a little more fragile, requiring a gentler, more skilled hand. Based on what I've read from you so far, it sounds like an indoor kite might be the best choice for now... Along those lines, I tend to favor the Wren and iKnack as having good lift, and for their durability. I hope that helps.
  4. You are welcome Tristan. To update that info, we now host 176 videos (up from 80) as of 8/8/06. That's not counting the 30-40 videos we have in the subscribers section!
  5. Indeed... At about 5' or 6' they start getting easier... 7' and 8' is nicely sized, ideal for all around flying and lighter winds too. What's your budget?
  6. Thanks Rob. In the words of Ray Bethell... "I do what I love because I love to do it."
  7. For a purchase in this area, I'd stop by The Kite Shoppe... Or call Theresa and have her go over some of the options with you. She's very knowledgable and will get you set up right, either in the store or by mail. If you want an indoor kite to start with... I'd recommend a Wren, it's very stable and easy to fly.
  8. Hi nus, glad to hear you've got the "bug"... It's a great pastime. You can find good web/mail service by calling any of the shops listed on our main site.
  9. Rock on Chris, maybe our paths will cross sooner than later.
  10. Indeed Chet, we'll be out at the field next to Portland International Raceway (West Delta Park) this coming Sat and Sun... Probably between noon and 4pm, maybe longer. Lots of room, decent wind... Come on out.
  11. Yeah, happy b-day Steve! GO FLY A KITE!
  12. Thanks Chet. The kite I'm flying in that video is a Revolution I, runs about $250 w/out lines or handles... For general recreation, the Revolution SLE is what you'd want to look at... For about $229.95 is comes with a DVD and handles. Great fun!
  13. I hope you're having a great birthday my friend.
  14. Ooooo... I likes. But, I'm having trouble drawing up a "stick" Bol... Anyone care to take a whack at it? PNG format is best, but I won't be picky.
  15. Yet another $5 off coupon code: SCROLLCOMMAS Good on any order of $20 or more, until August 14th 2006.
  16. Ummmm... It was me that slapped his bottom a few times.
  17. FYI, the entire one hour indoor show from Lincoln City is in the Kitelife subscribers section.
  18. Great story Scott!! If it's any consolation... The first year that I had a Revolution, it flew really poorly... Hated it, and I sold it after about 12 months... A few months later, come to find out I had the vertical spars on the FRONT of the kite instead of the back. *sigh* Oh yes, I have had my equally silly moments.
  19. Whew... Winds like that, I often go with: 4 wrap center leading edge 3 wrap outer leading edge 2 wrap verticals Not easy flying in those winds though, no matter how you slice it.
  20. Time to invest in in a 2 wrap frame and some 50# lines!
  21. Ohhhh... You ing ety !! Funny man. WWDD holds nothing against WWJF. Lova ya!
