I love the smell of coffee and Icarex in the morning!
Ahhh... Severely variable wind today, 0-6 mph, switching directions every couple of minutes... Great exercise, flew dual and quad equal amounts of time today.
Time for a movie at home while my legs stop humming... A hug and kiss for TK, maybe a nice hard cider too. *yum*
Anyone who is having issues with the Kymera wingtip end caps coming off, watch from 2:28 in this video... The caps are snug when this is done correctly.
It's not complicated, but I've met a couple of folks that didn't understand the info sheet that comes with the kite.
Aisle seat, check!
Club atmosphere, check!
First time on a Virgin Airline, pretty posh! USB, all inclusive food and drink.
Busted! Hard core flier award goes to John Kennedy, caught flying in the park near our hotel - good chat and fly, watching giant fruit bats in the trees.
10am tomorrow, the Redcliffe Rev Clinic begins!
Crap and double crap again... Had the fly of my life yesterday afternoon, came back to the room and had dinner with TK, was going to take a 1 hour nap before the AKA evening activities... Our alarm didn't even phase us, SO tired, slept right through it.
Sigh... Today is a new day. lol
Crap and double crap.
I really wanted to attend the AKAGN member meeting tonight, and to do a daily update... After flying for a few hours today (decompression after travel), I wandered back to the room and fell fast asleep until 9:30pm.
Don'tcha just LOVE board meetings?
Necessary, but definitely my least favorite pastime. lol
Good morning from Kuala Lampur!!!!
Going to the Batuu Caves (sp?) today, hoping for some indoor flying and maybe 75' team flying nearby... Also to the Patronas Towers later for urban guerilla flying.
Great hospitality from the whole KL crew, deepest thanks to our amazing hosts!
HELLO REV CLINIC PARTICIPANTS!
Not 100% sure yet, but when we meet at Punggol we'll take a poll amongst the group about moving to D1 (East Coast Park)... I know they had tents set up there and space was gone so that would make it impossible, but I'm curious if anyone knows if they're gone?
If the tents are still there, staying at Punggol.
If the tents are gone, we might move there for today.
STILL MEETING AT PUNGGOL, 10AM.
Hey, all - just curious, who all here lives in Hawaii?
TK and I are exploring the idea of a Winter trip over, possibly both Oahu and Maui, with a clinic on one or both islands while we're there - trying to get an idea where the kite fliers are.
hmm there are some great flyers on Hawaii you might need an assistant just let me know
Hi all, Takako and I have a 7 hour layover at LAX (1:40pm to 10pm) on Wednesday (5/22)... Anyone in the Los Angeles area want a private kite lesson and/or dinner date in exchange for getting us out of so many hours at the airport?
Will be offline for a while, but we'll check Facebook messages when we land - include your cell # in a private message or email if you're interested.
Yeah John, I'd love to hang out with you and TK.... you just need to change LAX to CLE : )
Holy crap, I'm full.
(onaka gabo gabo)
HUGE thanks to our friends who met us at the Singapore airport last night... Chun Ti Cheong, James Lim and Ken Hong, you guys really added a WARM welcome and great convenience in getting to the hotel.
Deepest thanks, looking forward to playing with you guys during the visit.
See you (clinic participants) at 10am! And please remember, all respect to all fliers, but we will be limiting clinic access to paid registrants.
I'm looking into doing a 4-hour INDOOR CLINIC here in Portland on either Nov 12th or 13th (Sat or Sun).
Not sure if I can get the space yet, but if so, we'd be looking at a max of six students and $25 registration. If I can pull this together, anyone interested? Must have at least 4 committed before I can go ahead.
Topics - dual line, quad line, whatever floats your boat, I can try to help!
Location - North Portland
Just a quick post before bed... Been ALL over Kuala Lampur during the past two days, it's been amazing and the hospitality has been amazing!
Tomorrow, we're off to Bintulu.
Looks like TK, Yuji and myself will be at West Delta Park this Saturday (October 23) if the weather is suitable.
Hope to see some of you there, probably from 10am onward.
Okay, I haven't flown anything since the Rev Clinic first weekend of the month (yeah - I know)... Should I blow off some of this afternoon and get a couple hours fix of street flying near my house, or stay a slave to this desk?
My fate is in your hands.

Saw this on my friend Carolyn's web site, it's a good one.

This field is too small, this field is too big... Ahhhh, this one is JUST RIGHT.
Note the wind direction and apartments behind, makes for brilliant wind switches, drops and gusts - so much fun!
We spent another night pretty much off the grid last night, at Butano State Park, BEAUTIFUL campground, we even had a raccoon make off with one of our ramen packets. LOL
Nice to chill for a bit, getting the "behind the scenes" peek at Second Wind... Great shop, really nice vibe here.
