Also true, to various extents depending on line material as well. Spectra for example, tends to cut or melt itself more easily (strong tensile but low melting point).

That, and while I see my kites as fine blades, snowboards, etc, the rest of the world still sees kiting as a toy pastime... We have precious few icons to drive new perception.

Or more new events in general... ? I think the party model is great too, lighter infrastructure, more free time and socialization, etc. The key is "on the field" or "pleasure in the game itself" organizers, not a lot of players in that game presently. Maybe. I don't know.

Elasticity, the inertia created during stretch can "head toward" the break point. Actual weight of the line itself, collectively, really long lengths hang from the kite, never mind whatever moisture is picked up, etc. Gusts, or yanks by hand can add more pull than "body weight vs kite". Also, just the ease of handling a larger line in hand. Just some thoughts, incomplete and open to debate.

CKD is boutique not unlike Lam Hoac, Level One is a bit more mainstream and slightly higher volume, Flying Wings' factory has been providing to the whole range of market since the days of the Beetle, sometimes licensing and building for many other designers and brands. Most of the other boutique or high end brands are also around $100 more per kite. 🤷 As for "better"? You'll never hear me say one kite is better than another, regardless of my own taste or opinion - can only describe or speak to the build quality (excellent) and the way it handles proportionate to what I look for.
