Just had my first session on the new Gaze STD a couple days ago! Designed by Naoki Tamura; world champion Team Air-Rex and Flying Wings, I like it so much that I've decided to add it to the catalog at Kite Forge - first outside design I've been inspired enough to offer through that channel. ❤️🔥 Stay tuned for more info on this full size precision and trick all rounder, under $300.

I'm not sure yet if I'll be attending T.I. next year, too early to tell - all depends on my available budget over the next couple months. However, I don't usually do private lessons or workshops alongside festivals - requires extra lodging, rental car days, logistics, etc, and I also avoid doing anything less than 2 day lessons for a first time session so all in all, it usually ends up being time and cost-prohibitive for students alongside my usual rate for the 2 days. Worth it in terms of the training, but pretty spendy overall for 2 extra days cross country regardless. That being said, I'll be quite accessible to folks who stop and hang out if I attend, much like I was last time - always happy to share "in flow" through the weekend. No shortage of good folks to borrow tips from all weekend.

No traditional bridle on this kite, but there is a simple fixed "point shift" harness on each side of the leading edge... Look for full info and pics when pricing is finalized and a page for it is added to Kite Forge. -
I'm in Washington state.
-
Aye, many of the popular inflatable kites are made by Peter Lynn's company, or overseas. Where is Sculpture Field?
-
Yup, that's impact damage. most secure fix is probably to remove the bungee, etc, then sew a heavyweight Dacron patch over on both sides, then re melt appropriately sized holes in the same places.
-
Kites like the Gemini (Benson design) tend to have a very loyal following and are well respected by the community so you won't often see plans posted for them. The owner of Tug (Andrew Beattie) has since shifted his focus almost exclusively to large inflatable show kites.

Common line length is anywhere from 80' to 120', in 90 lb test, LaserPro is by far the preferred brand for its strength and long term durability, good overview here: Lots more tutorials here - http://learnkites.com == And absolutely MUST KNOW stuff for managing your lines: == The handles you're looking for are referred to as "13 inch handles", and you should be positive they come with "leaders" (the knotted length at the top for tuning the kite's performance) as it can be a pretty rough experience without the ability to tune. Example below. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that my own shop Kite Forge sells both handles and line sets.
