  1. Wahoo! Back in the land of 3G coverage, I always forget how useful it is until I'm out of the USA for a while. :)

  2. Bear with me guys... Just came back from 13 days in Southeast Asia... Have to do laundry and repack for AKA/Wildwood tonight, traveling all day tomorrow, and I'm sick as a dog. Will do the drawing of course, but you'll need to give a day or two to do it, and to get proper replies to all the posts.
  3. Just a quick post before bed... Been ALL over Kuala Lampur during the past two days, it's been amazing and the hospitality has been amazing!

Tomorrow, we're off to Bintulu. :)

  4. Good morning from Kuala Lampur!!!! :)

Going to the Batuu Caves (sp?) today, hoping for some indoor flying and maybe 75' team flying nearby... Also to the Patronas Towers later for urban guerilla flying.

Great hospitality from the whole KL crew, deepest thanks to our amazing hosts!

  5. HELLO REV CLINIC PARTICIPANTS!

Not 100% sure yet, but when we meet at Punggol we'll take a poll amongst the group about moving to D1 (East Coast Park)... I know they had tents set up there and space was gone so that would make it impossible, but I'm curious if anyone knows if they're gone?

If the tents are still there, staying at Punggol.

If the tents are gone, we might move there for today.

STILL MEETING AT PUNGGOL, 10AM. ;)

  6. HUGE thanks to our friends who met us at the Singapore airport last night... Chun Ti Cheong, James Lim and Ken Hong, you guys really added a WARM welcome and great convenience in getting to the hotel.

Deepest thanks, looking forward to playing with you guys during the visit.

See you (clinic participants) at 10am! And please remember, all respect to all fliers, but we will be limiting clinic access to paid registrants.

  7. Hey Photomom, Just to show you, that I haven't been pulling your chain, you can have my number [ 590 ], for this next drawing. JB, if #590 wins >>>> Send it to "Photomom"....................with pleasure! I want her to have a Rev !!! Got it Nick, cool.
  8. Hi John, you're most welcome! Cross your fingers for #897, entry is automatic. Thanks for the support, and good luck!
  9. Wow, just got a phishing attempt via text message on TK's cell... "Your card has been deactivated, please call 503-XXX-XXXX"

I would never enter my info, but I did call the number and it said "welcome to card activation services, please enter your card number".

  10. What do you think, anything to be gained from the suspense of actually waiting 2-ish months between?
  11. I've had really good responses on the Kymera... Generally, folks seem to over-control it at first, and then begin to be more articulated in their flight technique. Myself, it's great to see that kind of influence on a flier - and to see that the kites are actually flying just like my personal ones, right out of the bag. Good luck everyone, I'm looking forward to giving this one away.
  12. Wow, that's a great lineup Wyatt! Glad it went so well, I hope we're able to join you for it next year. <grin>
  13. Hi folks, I'm gearing up for a 20 day trip to Singapore, Malaysia and New Jersey from September 12th to October 3rd but I wanted to drop a quick note on something. As many of you know, I've been experimenting with various platforms and formats for the bi-monthly Kitelife e'zine... Here are just some of the ongoing issues that just never seem to get sorted, and continue to bother me: A single shared login site-wide... In order to have this (for members, subscribers, authors, admins, etc), the forum software is the only reliable way to go. Using two different softwares (like Invision forum and Wordpress site) also means TWO updates every time a new version comes out for either, custom themes, etc. Our currently different site layout between magazine and forum, totally different set of navigation links, content, etc... I'd love to see a single front door for all. Lately, there sometimes isn't enough contributed material out there to easily come up with a full range of robust content in each issue. Again, that's just a smattering of the sentiments I have on this issue... So my question is: Would you still read the magazine if our articles were placed in the forum instead, as new topics in a dedicated area? You'd easily know when new articles have been added, because they'd appear in the "View New Content" area. Discussion could instantly ensue from each article, by way of your normal forum reply method. *Everything* would be searchable through a single database since it would all be on the forum. I think we would still have "issues" of sorts, perhaps by using a new topic area like this: Magazine Issues >YEAR >> ISSUE >>>Article name >>>Article name >>>Article name Just lobbing it out there for discussion and consideration, I'm really looking forward to your thoughts and replies. Thanks all for being here... I know I'm not always super active, but I'm here too and appreciate the support.
  14. Enjoying Bruce Lee quotes this morning...

  15. LOVE the "low and slow" trick work Rob, much more interesting to me than "whack-whack-whack-whack-whack" any day.
  16. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. Because I'll actually be out of the country when it's time to hold our B-Series drawing, I figured I'd put up another prize right now to appease our supporters. == This time around, a Kymera, $198 value! This package includes kite, removable weights and kite sleeve! NOTE: Primary color of the kite in this drawing is BLUE, with WHITE and GREY. You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/297, and will be drawn on October 25th, 2011! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!

  18. Brilliant, thank you so much Pete. #833 forever!
  19. Fun from Singapore last month... Full report here - http://www.kitelife.com/magazine/issue79/singapore-indoor-festival-2011/content.php
  20. Ah, I think I found it - should be alright now! Sorry, the renewed (old) system is simple again and I over thought it before.
  21. A word of advice to all... Any time you buy *anything* online, before checking out I suggest you do a Google search for "X coupon code", like "GoDaddy coupon code", "Hotel.com coupon", "Budget car coupon", etc... No joke, I probably save $1000 or more per year by spending 2 minutes doing this before every online purchase. ;)

  22. Whew... Took a lot of finagling, but we've now got flights, rental car and hotel all taken care of for AKAGN in Wildwood... We'll be there Tue-Mon, staying at the Starlux in one of their neat Airstream rooms. :)

  23. Nope, #833 is yours, attached to our master list. You *should* now be be able to select the lifetime option, via this link. Let me know, thanks Pete!
  24. Pete, if you'd like to upgrade to lifetime, I can just "clean" your account here so it doesn't show a subscription and you should then be able to initiate the new subscription. Work for you?
  25. Neat shot.
