  1. I draw anytime after 12 midnight PST, and only subscriptions active before 12 midnight PST are included.
  2. Solid stuff Todd, thanks. There is also the AKA's "Club Organizer Manual" - http://aka.kite.org/resources/publications/doc_download/154-aka-club-organizers-manual Might be worth looking at.
  3. I was going to do a dual line clinic in Lincoln City this weekend, but with no takers, looks like I'll be in town for this drawing... Now let's see if I'm on time with the drawing. Muhahahaha...
  4. Ahhh... I've not flown a Salsa II myself, but I'm pretty sure it is a beginner kite. Definitely experiment and have fun, you should be able to do the Axel, fade, turtle, stall, maybe a backspin... But, I don't think it's capable of the more advanced tricks. Never know though, feel free to prove us wrong!
  5. Happy birthday brudda!
  6. Woohoo, play safe everyone!
  7. Hi... Sounds like you might be trying for a " " or " "?It might be a "yo yo", "roll up" or "two pop roll up", but it doesn't sound like you're trying to wrap the lines all the way around the kite. There are a wealth of video tutorials and reference videos (as linked above) that will really help shorten your learning curve, and perhaps help define what you want to learn. Full tutorial archive from Randy Greenway - http://vimeo.com/randyg/videos Full tutorial archive from DPMama74 - http://www.youtube.c...er/DPmama74#g/u Full tutorial archive from kamiKazeDavid - http://www.youtube.c...mikazeDavid#g/u Let me know what you think of them? And, the Fractured Axel tricks wiki - http://fracturedaxel.co.uk/wiki/tiki-index.php Remember, some tricks are reliant on having a kite that is capable... What are you flying?
  8. I sent your login info Wayne, should be able to get in now. As for the fate of Kitemail... Looks like I might be able to save the MailPlus (paid) accounts, but the free ones are almost definitely going away in the next month or two. Might be a good idea to copy over your address book and forward any important emails to another account (like gmail).
  9. Welcome to the forum Staffspinner, good luck on finding some flying buddies... There are a bunch of us in this part of the world.
  10. Sorry the dates don't work Chuck... Next time.
  11. Hi Hans, welcome to the forum, and to the kiting addiction! You might try communicating with bartman here on the forum, he's from that area and might know some other locals.

  13. If we're able to do it, would anyone be interested in attending a dual line clinic in Lincoln City (OR) on July 9th and 10th? $35 for the whole weekend, anything you want to know - from individual to team, tricks to precision, equipment handling or anything else, you name it! I know it's terribly short notice, but Northwest Winds (aka Gomberg Kites) will have Kymeras in stock and this is a sweet opportunity for anyone to pick one up and get lessons at the same time... I'm sure there will be some kind of discount for clinic participants. We'd look at doing something later, but with the exception of Jul 9-10, my schedule is booked solid through September. Colors are limited, David has asked me to let people know they can Northwest Winds directly to place orders (541-994-1004) if you want to secure your preferred color before they're gone. Would love to meet up with some folks... Lincoln City is a great flying spot, I expect it will be a small group so everyone will get LOTS out of the gathering. Please post back here asap if you're interested, so I can see if we can get enough folks signed up to make this happen.

  15. CJ, I think there is a real "cart before the horse" factor here... A club takes one thing above all: Kite fliers. Seems to me, the first thing to do is find, meet or make new fliers within the potential territory of a new club. Once you have enough fliers, then a club makes sense... An empty club won't make new fliers on it's own merit. Just my 2 cents.
  16. CJ, you're lucky #881. Aye, the forum doesn't generate the subscription numbers... Nothing like that built into the system, so it's all manually tracked.
  17. Update... I am communicating with our @kitemail service provider to see if there is some way to retain at least the paid (Mail Plus) accounts. I expect news back on this front by Tuesday at the latest.
  18. Here is the letter I posted to @kitemail users and my Facebook yesterday... Also SV, I sent you a PM: Get me that info VIA PM and I'll try to work it out for you.
  19. KiteMail.com (our free email service) may be CLOSING.

  20. I've tried bribery but I don't think that RNG understands money. I would offer $50. RNG would say, "87." Then I would offer $60 and RNG would say, "22." I would say, "$22?" and RNG would say, "302." Actually, RNG has never said 302 but I live in hope. ROFL, my favorite banter thus far.
  21. "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."

Quote from the movie, Sucker Punch.

  22. Aye, the RNG is a true random number generator that I use to pick our winners. All the smack talking, RNG cajoling, bribery, etc, is just good fun.
  23. Those dates are confirmed! July 23-24, we'll be at the Portland International Raceway... No set fee, voluntary donations are welcome. Should be a half dozen of us if all goes well.
  24. It's all good. The only topics we don't encourage here are politics, religion, nudity, etc... Not that any of those are inherently bad, but people's values vary a great deal and this is a kite forum, after all.
  25. For sure, let us know CJ... I'd be up for it, provided I'm in town and have time. By the way, awesome profile pic! Do you have your own falcon(s)?
