  1. Sorry to miss it, GH is one of our faves.
  2. I'd guess that it's not an ad at all... Looks like a "featured activity" in the Geico lifestyle magazine, and someone did a little homework to find the AKA, etc, as references. Interesting they should highlight Lincoln City, Berkeley and WSIKF... Great choices for sure, but I'm curious how they selected those events.
  3. Hi everyone, just dropping a quick note to let you know that TK and I will be on the road May 21 to Jun 4... Dental work down south, then a leisurely drive back up the coast on 101. Phone and email should still be regular, although I probably won't be on the forum as much during those days.
  4. That was taken the year I started flying, actually attended my first Lincoln City event (OSSKC) in June of 1991.
  5. Very cool! You could take a picture of the mag and post it here.
  6. Karen, you're number 461. Glad to have you here, lurking or otherwise.
  7. It's a thing of beauty Mikey, you do amazing work.
  8. Great stuff, thanks for sharing!
  9. Duane - just to confirm, we've had 3 new subscribers since you put your numbers up for grabs, but none have posted here as of yet.
  10. It's all good.
  11. Thanks for the well wishes. The members are listed, updated about a week ago... http://www.teamiquad...le/current-year
  12. Just realized I had the wrong link in the original post, corrected with this one. http://www.skydogkites.com/traction/sdt_2.8.shtml
  13. Great news, I'm really happy to hear things are looking up! It only gets better from here... Now, if it's possible, one of the most helpful things you could do is meet up with another flier, it really shortens the learning curve.
  14. Great to see you "shaking your butt", so to speak... Clearly having fun, makes me grin! Thanks for doing what you do, mi hermano.
  15. Thanks for the kindness everyone. No Grand Haven for TK and I this year, indeed, we'll be driving down to Tijuana over that 2-day weekend... We'll be down there during the following M-F getting worked on, then spend the weekend recuperating in San Diego with some rest, local flying, Rev factory, Sea World, etc. After that, a leisurely 5-6 day drive back up the coast via 101, camping, flying, visiting friends, etc. == If all goes as planned, just one more round of dental work, a few months from now.
  16. FYI, BTW, etc... Looking for an opportunity to get indoors for another round of filming, but we have a lot of stuff coming up in the next month or two. Next weekend, we're at Rockaway Beach OR for a fest. May 20-June 5 we'll be on the road, down to Tijuana for another round of dental work, and a leisurely drive back up the coast. I have some weekdays in June that we'll be able to use for filming, just need to accumulate a bit of cheddar to pay for the indoor space before then. Stay tuned!
  17. Right on the money Jeep, that's a pretty rock solid "suggested" order. Although of course, different personalities will tend to be more interested in one thing over another. Bottom line, FUN, INTERESTING... If it ain't either of those, there's no point - right?
  18. Giving Seth a run at this one, eh SV?
  19. Aye, while you can overcome with continued work, it'll really take at least 4mph of wind to will allow rapid growth. Don't give up though... On light wind days, work on the "little details" like problem-free line winding and assembly techniques.
  20. Poacher, the loading techniques will translate somewhat to the Indoor Rev, but you'll find that the hand technique (input/pulling) changes quite a bit due to the different shape and handling between the outdoor and indoor models.
  21. Have you looked over the tutorials at LearnKites? http://www.learnkites.com Especially the "Line Management", it should solve your tangled lines. http://www.learnkites.com/kite-video/rev-tutorials-outdoor/line-management/
  22. Sorry, gotta ask first... Dual line or quad line?
  23. Lots of awesome video from Berck this year. One of my favorites: Thanks for all your hard work Mike!
