  1. Hi Guy, you find a collection of freely available tutorials here... http://kitevids.com/...ecent/all_time/ -- And some trick tutorials from Randy Greenway... http://cid-268807a1b...A1B99B3F7C!103/ -- Also, I just completed the first of my own dual line tutorials, more to come on actual flying... They will be of comparable quality to my Rev tutorials. -- And, there are also a number of DVDs available on dual line flying from various kite stores. Best thing to do is start inexpensive (about $50) for something durable to crash and familiarize with controls. Someone may wish to correct me here, but a half-decent trick kite probably starts at around $125 and up, good ones are closer to the $200+ range.

  3. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. B-Series Vented (package), roughly a $350 value! This package includes kite, 3 wrap and 4 wrap frames, adjustable handles, DVD, weight kit and kite sleeve! NOTE: Primary color of the kite in this drawing is PURPLE and vented, as pictured. This is regular (factory) model, it is not a Pro by Bazzer, but will still provide excellent flying for whoever wins this. You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/293, and will be drawn on April 5th, 2011! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  4. We've got a winner, and on time no less. It... Is... Subscriber... SIX... THREE... NINE! Congratulations to Rocky Freed, subscriber 639. Next drawing to be announced very soon!
  5. Just curious to hear about what folks are using in the kite making workshops at home... ? - Sewing machine(s) - Cutting table(s) - Dedicated room What kind of kites have you made so far, and what's coming up?
  6. Ooooo, purty!
  7. Nice Duane. Maybe I'll just throw the kite into the middle of the forum and let everyone duke it out... That's still random, right?
  8. Added due to popular demand. Tapatalk is a forum app on the iPhone, Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry and Nokia. Tapatalk Forum App provides super fast on-the-go forum access to majority of the discussion forums that has activated the Tapatalk plugin. 9. As you can see, we've added our sponsor ads back into the forum (they disappeared after the recent software upgrade)... Locations: - forum index sidebar - after the first topic in each category - after the first post in each topic These sponsors are kind enough to support our efforts, the ads are a small price to pay for the free resources we maintain here. Stores - http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?app=links&showlinkcat=7 (pinned links) Mfgrs - http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?app=links&showlinkcat=8 (pinned links) For those of you who are subscribers, you'll not see the forum ads - yet another benefit of being a subscriber. Thanks for your understanding!
  10. Aye, the devil is in the details... There's only a few details, but they're all important. None difficult, but they are specific.
  11. BTW, I *love* how the "DUAL HEADS" topic went to quad discussion in 2 posts flat.
  12. Another major item, is DON'T MUCK WITH WHAT YOU THINK ARE WRAPS until the kite is totally hooked up and "ready to fly"... Do not sit at the kite end with those loops trying to sort out what looks like a mess. Hook it all up, apply even tension at the handles, 95% of it will pop out unless you've let your loops go through each other during the wind up/out process.
  13. No problems with the quads on this end... 3 minutes to set up, 3 minutes to tear down, every time without fail. Did you watch the tutorials? (Line Management, Assembly and Disassembly) It's really about a few essential steps and eliminating the variables, nothing difficult, becomes second nature very quickly once you understand it. == FYI, "quad heads" was set up way back when Rev fliers were farther and fewer between, with very little online information to be had. Now, it's such an active community that it has it's own forum (Rev) with literally dozens of topic areas. == With the dual lines, "dual heads" have always had a variety of topic areas in which to post and converse. If there is more demand for it, surely I'll be happy to make a "dual heads" area - but to add it now would be a bit redundant, best I can tell.
  14. That stern look from the Queen has me cowed.
  15. Are you drinking and posting again?
  16. Nice, ur 2 sexy 4 ur kite! That was a really good day of flying.
  17. Pete explained this quite well below. Nah, like we say on iQuad... Leave no one behind! Exactly. But again, a link to the member map will also be featured on the new site. That's putting it mildly... Not an easy thing to do (and redo every time we upgrade the forum software).
  18. Ya, but it is still the norm (roughly 75% of all our site traffic uses IE).
  19. Topic pinned, good call. As for adding it to the members page, possible, but it's already linked in this first post and in the navigation menu, I think folks will find it. The member map will also be linked on the new main site that I'm working on.
  20. I flew at Venice Beach sometimes back when I lived in L.A. (age 19), and some of the ladies would take off their tops to sunbathe. Well, I had a little hook on my wingtip... 'Nuff said.
  21. I use Firefox for general browsing and work, Chrome runs Hulu and heavy processes on my 2nd monitor. Chrome on Mac hasn't been updated in FOREVER, and it still irks me greatly (like no sidebar bookmarks). Now and then I pull out Safari for site testing, and totally gave up on IE for Mac as it really, really sucked.
  22. I always like dipping my kite into a pond or fountain, then going and hovering over some innocent bystander... <grin> *DRIP* *DRIP* *DRIP* *DRIP* Even better if they're trapped in a boat with nowhere to run. Oh yeah!
  23. You still remember how to fly dualies Ant?
