  1. Anyone else thinking of flying at Delta Park today? :)

  2. This is the final factory sample, flown with tuning AS IS directly out of the bag, adding only the 2 extra tail weights it comes with. Having a really, really good time with the Kymera!
  3. I'll have a Kymera on hand for folks to try at the fly, WELL before they are available to the general public.
  4. Hopin' for ya Dean.
  5. Those are 30'x50#... In my opinion however, ideal training length is 75-120 feet. If you have light wind most often, 75' might be better... If you typically have good wind, I think the 120' gives much more space in the sky for learning and play.
  6. Guy, all Revs benefit from a slight (moderate) tightening of the bottom-most (tail tips) bunji cord after the first several hours of flying.... Easily done with two added knots. Other than that, nothing else should be needed.
  7. Thanks for the update Litsong, it's a really great kite, glad to see they'll be available for folks.
  8. Well folks, almost a new year... Who's coming out for our annual New Years Day fun fly at West Delta Park in Portland? TK and I will be there! If you're coming, I strongly recommend being prepared to bring rain or warm weather gear, as well as a thermos of something warm and tasty.

  10. This is going to be an AWESOME post-Xmas prize for some lucky winner!
  11. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. 10' Inflatable Plane (dual line) from Gomberg Kites, a $350 value! This incredibly unique kite is adapted from the original designed by Rolf Sturm of Germany! "Here's the ultimate fun kite. It is completely soft with no sticks or spars. It can be 'stunted' on two lines or staked out on display." (winner will be able to select the primary color of their choice - purple, yellow, blue or red) == You can sign up here if you're not yet a member of the Kitelife forum, or click here to sign up if you're logged in already. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/283, and will be drawn on December 27th, 2010! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  12. Got a winner for y'all... Figured I'd draw it as early as possible, had a good turkey day, so here it is. The winner.... Subscriber #638... Congratulations to James Rodriguez, taking home a beautiful Ron Gibian original!!! Thanks folks, I'll have a new prize listed shortly.
  13. Hi folks, on our way to a friend's house for turkey day but I wanted to stop in and leave a warm Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from Takako and I... We're thankful for everything, but especially all of you and the kiting community as a whole, together (all of us as kitefliers) we're a positive presence in the world, proud to be a part of it. Have a safe and happy day, wherever you are, regardless of what you're doing or celebrating... Best wishes and good winds.
  14. No rest for the wicked, eh? I'll draw the day after, it'll make a nice Black Friday prize for someone.
  15. Hey, did anyone else here just realize that 11/25 is Thanksgiving? One day before or one day after, what say ye?
  16. Zzzzzzzzz.
  17. Again, very fun. I love to fly, to hear it motivates folks like yourself is icing on the cake. <grin> Keep on rocking!
  18. TK is taking an ESOL placement test at PCC Cascades right now, looking into English classes to expand her knowledge of the language. :)

  19. Honestly, I didn't have any unusual reaction to 4 line... I was introduced to both dual and quad within the same month (August 1990), and I didn't fly single line before that. I had problems with the Rev 1 that I bought in 1991, mostly because I had the vertical spars on the wrong side, so I foolishly sold it. Six months later (after learning my mistake), I bought a Rev II and have been flying both types of kite ever since.
  20. Touche. I'll be in town, with my alarm set.
  21. I'm not sure, might be somewhere in the Kite Lines archives since it's the only readily available publication that pre-dates the Revolution (1988).
  22. One year down, many to go. :)

  23. I wish.
