  1. Hehehehe... Hey, I'm up for anything. Never do forget, do you?
  2. Well, we just might have to keep our "merrymaking" to some of the other after hours parties, of which there will be many I am sure... I have to say, it will be nice to finally meet some of you face to face for the first time... Even sober! Thursday Eve, the 19th... Starting 8-8:30pm, at the park. Just look for the Kitelife banner, many of the fliers attending WSIKF should know where it is if you should need directions. (unless someone can rally up a map, or post directions here)
  3. Also, forum issues have been resolved.
  4. Heads up gang... We just lowered out hosting rates by roughly 30%-60%, so both new and existing customers will receive an even greater value now. Those already hosted with us will have the new rates effective on their renewal dates. http://www.hostplay.net
  5. Everything is back in happy land guys, my server staff continues to amaze me with the hours they are willing to spend with me... And most of all, their sincerity in service. Please carry on!
  6. Just an idea... Ya'll should include your web site URLs in your signatures! You can do so here: http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=22 You can use any of the codes there as well such as , , etc.
  7. Want to know where I cut my teeth back in the day? Cesar E. Chavez Park, otherwise known by the locals as North Waterfront Park, in Berkeley California... During the summer there are consistant 10-20mph winds, and tons of room for everyone to fly any kind of kite... Even the big stuff! If you're ever passing through, make sure you stop by and check it out!
  8. Sorry to do this to you Llamadude... Rick, all of our packages have the same services available... If there is something you need there, discuss it with Carl and see if he's willing to set it up or perhaps you'd like to check it out yourself... Since he's doing the site design and maintenance for you, it's between you guys. And what the heck is jade?!
  9. Here's the word from Kay at World Kite Museum... Hi John, The area north of the Museum, where the picnic tables are, is a City mini park. It's available for anyone. And as I'm writing this I remember that sometimes the tables have been hauled down to the beach during the festival. There are no grills in this park so if you want to cook you'll need to bring something. You are welcome to use the space, however. Here's a thought. We remember other groups having bonfires on the beach away from the dunes, of course, and having a great time. Friday night is also the Museum's Hall of Fame induction party from 6:30 to 8:30. You could attend that and then go to the southend of the Boardwalk for your bonfire/barbcue and also watch the fire works. There is a rest room in that area also. Whichever works - you'll have fun. Saturday night is the Museum auction and awards gala. Hope you plan to attend that also. It's great fun. Have you made reservations for a place to stay? Places are booking now. Kay Does the park work for everyone?
  10. To be quite clear, Host Play is the same server as Kitelife... Just a different brand name, for use outside of the kiting industry.
  11. Have you been in touch with Eli Anderson? Linda's son is very active in the power kiting scene in the Northwest, all up and down the coast. eanderson (at) west-connect.com
  12. Check my latest venture... Feels smooth, just promoting and waiting for traffic now. http://www.hostplay.net Please share your feelings on graphic appeal, ease of navigation, clarity of product and educational value... I want to make it the very best site that I can.
  13. Looks like 8:30pm, Friday, behind the museum is our goal... Out of the wind, near dark, semi-private... I'm just waiting on a reply from Kay.
  14. Greetings Kay, I will be attending my first ever WSIKF this year, and am having a small gathering of Kitelife regulars together for a barbecue on Friday night of the festival... I would like to humbly request the use of the "courtyard" area behind the museum for a couple of hours that evening. We're aware that it could potentially be committed to another group, but if there is any possibility of us using it from 8:30pm to around 10:30pm... We would be a happy little group indeed, likely between 10-20 people total. I would personally ensure that we leave it as we found it... And we'd be pleased just to have a place to convene briefly. Please let me know? Respectfully yours, John Barresi Editor/Publisher Kitelife Magazine There you have it gang... We'll find out soon with any luck.
  15. Another thing that pops up from time to time as a cause is having the top train lines between rear kites a teeny bit too short... You might experiment with pulling the bottom ones in by 1/8" to 1/4", and if you can't launch the stack anymore I would put them back out and listen to other solutions.
  16. I handicapped you by making it unavailable for so darn long, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  17. Not sure about a location Rick... I'm not very familiar with the surrounding area, I just know the beach and museum pretty much. The beer garden is an idea, but it ups the budget requirement for everyone... We'd be better off with a 12 pack or three in another spot. Maybe I can get the "courtyard" area behind the museum for a couple hours one evening... What day are we shooting for here? I could contact Kay Buesing and see if she'd be willing to let us play there, but I need to tell her what night we have in mind, and a secondary in case anyone else has it that night. As for my room... There will be 4-5 people there already, since I'm borrowing the floor in Troy Gunn and Team TKO's spot at the Super 8.
  18. We're pleased to announce the next round of prizes being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. You can sign up on the home page. Odds of winning for each prize are currently 1/43, and there are two prizes being drawn on July 10th! http://www.kitelife.com/prizes/tako_fighters36/index.htm Our thanks, and the very best to you!
  19. Like this... See "File attachments" in the attached photo.
  20. When making a posting... There is a little empty field a little ways below where you're typing, with a "Browse..." button. Find the file, select it so that the file path is in that little spot... Then post the reply! Uploads have to be within a posting.
  21. Hey Rick... I've stuck with kite flying for 14 years now because in and of itself, it is after all a neutral and universal past time with nothing to bring but the outdoors, beauty, health and joy. You guys (all of you, even those not here on the forum) helped to raise me into someone I believe in and am very proud of... With little confusion in that. The least I can do is try to continually imbibe the peace we all find in kiting at one time or another into everything you experience in the Kitelife world... Not that mushy stuff, but real practical clarity... One day at a time, one step at a time. Love you all dearly!
