my knees, if i will started this 10-15 years ago probably now i will have enough experience to lower the pressure on the knees but at 51 to start i find out is not to much time to perfect the fly and position. i was extremely tired after 15-20 minutes making the traveling and preparation time to not wort to be spend

probably nobody overthink to much like you do and just by experience with all kind of kites shapes and models generally recommend 90 Kg lines. For sure also is a safety issue here, better to fly the kite with a ticker line than to lose it in the first gust. Yon may agree the wind speed is different at 50 m then at 100 m.  Also is the kite line production on the play witch is having less weight options then the fishing line and the main focus is on anti friction and elongation more then in sock strength .

Again is mi opinion not a scientific fact

for a single line kite i think you calculation is a bit off,  is no way at the surface you present in to a 24 m/s wind the pressure to be just 4 kg. I may agree with that 4 kg just if the wings are having possibility to flex back allowing the wind to pass without to encounter opposition (something like an geometrical adjustment wing on planes) and may be also correct for launch and cruse position but you may count the hole process in this. at one point your kite will pass troth the power of the wind window trying to stay on the wind direction when the wind is shifting. Math and chemistry are give you the absolute numbers because are suppose to by on ideal conditions

i do not know to much about 2 line but if you want to start quads forget about EXP and go straight to an used 1.5,  B or B-Pro. Soon after an EXP you will want more for sure and that will mean another kite so...jump to better ones. You may also want to take a look at at Djinn, Phoenix  Freilen

from the past 2 months i go every weekend on Busse Woods on Schaumburg and after i launch my new Scintillation on 200' line i have plenty of space around and except some dogs and small kids everybody keep that boundary. i hope soon some of the guys from neighborhoods to show up

From A to C and B to C must to be equals so is a isosceles triangle. Third bridle is from C to the middle of AB. 

You are done and for sure will fly almost overhead. If you add an arch between A and B you will make the kite to have more stability and fly on higher winds

hello, i have from a recent purchase an AIRBLAST 11.8 who seams was never used judging by the bar, lines and sail condition. on this week-end ( 04/25-26 ) i will inflate the kite to see if are any problems with the bladders, check the length of lines and take some pictures of the kite on the ground and launched. More details Sunday afternoon or Monday when i will have post the pictures and checked the integrity and condition of gear 

I do not have any more interest in kite-surfing so ...if somebody want this kite i am open to offers

you are right, the spare should be in back of the sail. Also the caps are moving on the bungee or with them give you at one moment sensation they are on front . at assembly just move them on the correct position and you are good to go

IMO,i do not think for landboarding Revolution or any other 4 line on handles hite is the solution. you have a lot of hand movement just for flying making hard to keep the board under control but...hey, is your choice

Djinn is top of the top but if you have( like me) the curiosity and budget to check and have different models and brands with different characteristics and shapes buy both or at least try them. Fulcrum is have a different and unique shape and because of that a higher pull is expected but on the same time will fly on positions where a flat kite is collapsing

RX is having the same spars dimensions like 1.5 but the surface is bigger. the V is lower making the kite to have with probably 1/5 more sail then 1.5

IMO before to buy a XX or RX ore any other reflex technologies try to fly one. is very possible to do not be at your expectations from millions reasons. if you like old stile Revolutions try Djinn or Phoenix

dam right Mark, i flayed that kite probably 20 times and i learned a lot from but after that the center panel just ripped of in mid fly. i used the general shape and spares to build myself a new and bit bigger one and surprisingly is acting really good in 2-5 mph

IMO colors is the last criteria of difference. the most important ones are the materials and craftsmanship involved. Revpolo is one single canvas with design printed on all others are having multiple panels sewed together creating the design. the way how the panels are shaped  and sewed is changing the air flow. Another difference is the general shape, some bigger or smaller,the V shape deeper or not,the angle of that V is another difference what count. Bridle is also one of the most important difference making the frame to keep more or less the tension on the sail.Frame lighter or heavier, elasticity of frame, carbon or graphite frame. material for the sail himself is making a difference to,some have more stretch than others,some are lighter and tinnier.

for sure i miss a lot others differences but you can not have all the good things on to a single kite without to think at the retail price so...some compromises are done between all the good and bad to create a product what will sell

sport kites use different material for lines and for that they do not mixt good with single lines kites and usually they start to lock at around 10-12 360's 

for low winds will be a good idea to buy a set of 40-50 lbs lines anywhere between 35 to 65 fits. less weight means less drag for the kite. personally i like SkyBond and i hate LPG (Laser Pro Gold)

ok let's break the answer in multiple topics.

before to start fly when you connect the lines check the bridle,all different sections to be symmetrical and equals between them. if you see length difference  that means is something wrong and make sure to repair before to fly. check the lines to be equal especially if they are the one sold with the kite, most of the time right out of the package you will find 1-2 inches difference 

Line length: 65 is a good one but most of the flyers use 85 or 120 when they fly together or in team. longer lines give you also a bigger wind window and some more time to avoid a crash. shorter lines 30-35-40 for light wind, urban fly or small spaces. your choice and preference.

JB leaders: yes they will help you to gain more control of the line length and smoother mouvement how long you are in control.

kite size: the confusing is starting when you throw in discussion reflex technologie kites versus old models. EXP is having the same dimensions like 1.5, B and B-Pro and is smaller then all reflex technologie on the market now except new rebranded 1.5 Classic witch is the old 1.5. Yes, is a entry level for taste of fly quads but is breaking on the same way like all others, difference is the starting price because of the sail fabric and number of stitches.

springs: being a beginner is hard to fly in less than 5-10 MPH and springs are adding some weight but also help to recover or a flat launch. if you pass the frustration of low wind test to fly with and without and you will feel the difference yourself. springs are not training wheels at all even if they advertise to be like. they making the sail to have a different profile on low pressure making the kite to act differently.IMO when you have some experience that springs are just dead weight. accumulating experience will not make to much difference if they are or not there but will give you the chance to try more complex maneuvers without to overcontrol

is a good kite, equivalent of the original Rev 1.5. bridle is a bit different but you may buy a Rev ore French one at any moment to improve the fly. I will have some doubts about the site.

what you see is pilot skills, usually fighter kites have an unbalanced bridle make them to have a left right movement. all that crazy fly evolution is pilot input on the line depending where is the kite nose and in what direction pilot what to send him. the main reason for that is to cut other lines or to make other kites to fall on the ground
