  1. Because I made the huge rectangle to explore the new pattern, I had quite a bit of extra material especially from the section where I cut out the Belly of the kite. Was playing with the pieces and found I had enough to make PQ II (Purple Quarantine II) A second sail with basically the same pattern but in the smaller 72" format.. I'm completely out of the black thread so This one will be accented in white thread.. 5 seams left to sew on the flat panel. This is all Trim from the first kite. Another reason for the white thread is the panels with white thread were originally going to be the bag for the first kite.
  2. Completely off topic but these might make you smile.
  3. Finally got a chance to pull a bit of video.. enjoy
  4. Then I wish you the absolute best.
  5. FWIW, The Reflex RX starts on Rev's site for $380 The Djinn from Kite Forge starts at $375 The Vertigo at OSK is $199.98 The Exodus at OSK runs $229.98 I own or have owned at least one of all of these. (Reflex Tarantella and Reflex XX ) have both been sold now. The Djinn, Vertigo Stack and Exodus all sit in my bag to fly. My personal opinion is I don't care for the springs on the Rev and QC on the Freileins is top notch. The Djinn is the most advanced quad out there and has the improvements that don't come stock on any other sail. Please get the sail that makes you happy. Bottom line, There's a reason there are so many Revs for sale and you barely see the others on the secondary market.
  6. It affects how they feel. It seems strange to me you cited the Djinn as too expensive when it's literally $5 dollars different on the base price. It seems you have your heart set on the Rev name brand. I wish you the best. I still highly advise you fly before you buy.
  7. Vertigo is less expensive than the Rev. First recommendation is to find fliers in your area and try their kites. If you want a Rev, I'd look at some of the used B series kites in the classifieds here.
  8. Based on some recent conversations in chat (Yes, KiteLife still has an active chat!!!) I decided to show some of the advantages of the White Leading Edge. First advantage is it is very visible against the dark grass when doing very low inverted flying. It also allows you to easily see what frame you have in the kite, Next it makes it easy to see your spar alignment on setup and separation on breakdown when you are folding your kite. The biggest disadvantage is white shows dirt and grass stains. This isn't meant to be everything but should give some insight into the thoughts I go through when choosing LE Color.
  9. Bridle Check was encouraging.
  10. From the album: Riffclown's Homemades

Time lapse of throw launch. Almost non-existent Breeze.
  11. Just need to tie a bridle for it.. This kite is ready to test.
  12. Panels are all sewn, Backlit to show detail and folded to show roughly what one half of the kite will look like. Edge Binding will be Purple. I still have to decide on Leading Edge..
  13. Decided to stick with my original plan. the diamonds are very pretty on the overlap but would become very "stripey" if I went that way.
  14. I Get the 100# Bridle line from kites and Fun Things.
  15. Keep in mind this is also a double thickness created from the overlap and backlit.
  16. I know I said zig zag but I put the panels up to plan the zig zag cuts and I'm definitely having second thoughts.. Taking a pause to think about this.
  17. Time for a purple Quarantine Kite. Using 4 different Purples on this one. Time for something that really messes with the eyes.
  18. First and foremost Kites are the original WIND up Toy. Wind Blows and Kite goes up.. As a group, we've been practicing social distancing for years. We wouldn't want our lines tangled.
  19. And 30 seconds of Bridle test Video..
  20. A couple of other still to keep from clogging up the gallery
