  1. Looking at the website  i do like the finish of the Benson kites, and the material doesn’t look slack anywhere. I have also looked at Mamba both on the web and you tube, if it wasn’t for the delivery time and cost of importing to the UK I would have ordered a Mamba a month ago. Also looked at Lam Hoek in Canada, again nice looking kites with a good finish, but $90.00 cdn for postage and long delivery due to shipping delays due to Covid.
So I think I am going to order a Benson Deep Space, got to decide on a colour now.

I would have waited twice as long to get mine, and would have waited even longer if I had too. They are beautiful and you will love any of them. ACB7EAF3-17CA-4892-A7AC-01E2E8E58933.JPG

  2. If the wind is over 10mph.... I don't try many tricks. Axels, 540s, yoyos, lazies... Save all that for under 10. Over 10? Revs.

After a few bridle adjustments and lots of learning to walk with and feed the kite some line when it’s blowing I could do most tricks in 15-20mph on Saturday

  3. New here in the forum and definitely still a rookie in dual line stunt kite flying I dare to ask for a recommendation regarding light wind kites.
I started flying with a Prism Quantum, a really nice kite. But here in Central Mexico the wind normally is not that strong, so I also got me soon a Prism Zephyr and a Prism 4D.
My self evaluated skill level: No problem anymore to keep the kite in the air and flying in a controlled way, starts and landings work out in approx. 70% of the cases. At this moment I focus on learning stalls and snap stalls.
Also, I think can clearly recognize the difference in flying the Zephyr vs the Quantum, it feels much more controllable considering turns etc.
The 4D is also a great little kite, but as it is much more fragile I am way more concerned to damage it with my still limited skills compared to the Zephyr.
My question now: What would be a reasonable next / additional light wind kite that would be from his characteristics anywhere in between the Zephyr and the 4D? I refer in here to characteristics flying it in lighter winds but still not being so sophisticated and fragile that I will potentially break it immediately with my still limited skills. Also, to have more options in lighter winds, definitely to go further in my learning process but also just to get a step by step bigger collection of kites. It’s not really that I need it, but also that I want some more kites...!
As the Zephyr now is discontinued and a successor is still not available I am a little lost regarding options. One kite I was looking at is the HQ Shadow.
Any recommendations and tips are highly welcome.
    Herbert

Plus 1 for the HQ shadow it’s awesome!

  4. Hated flying before I learned the ground recovery game, didn’t want to try anything new and then I spent an entire day over and over grounding it all over the window and relaunching, total game changer. Only one they kills me and it’s either the lack of wind or maybe the grass or sand I’m flying in but I can never relaunch belly down nose facing me. Anyone have tips for that?

  5. Picked up a set of the Matrix 75' x 90# when I recently acquired a Badass. With kite purchase, there was a nice little discount which made it a no brainer.
Have used the lines maybe 1/2 dozen times on various kites and so far so good.  While the orange seemed bright to my eyes on the winder, I have found that in flight there are so many other things going on that I don't really notice it unless I expressly turn my mind to it. Functionally, they are invisible, which is kinda the way I want it. Clearly visible to the eye on the ground, however (mostly grass for me). A good thing.
Rather like the winder, too, which I am using along with Freilein straps.
Most of my other line is older and goes way back, including some ancient BlueLine which blends in to the sky even more I think.
    .

Do you have the badass UL or STD? Really want to try a level one kite can’t decide badass or reloaded in UL or STD, any input would be awesome

  6. I see a lot of the low end is only 1-2mph less on UL vs Standard kites and the top range from most is 5-10mph more on the standards, after flying a maestro 2 standard kite in 15-20mph and 22mph sustained winds and gusts over 25mph it wasn’t even fun just dragged me all over the place. So even with my standard kites I wouldn’t even want to fly them over 15-18mph anyway so why not just use UL kites and tune them for for higher wind conditions if necessary? Looking to purchase a new kite that has a UL and STD option also my local kite shop is online only so I am unable to test either option
