  1. I am just looking forward to learning any of them. First trick for me is to get a kite capable of doing them. You guys boggle my brain. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  2. Yes. I own 3 Djinn. Love them! I just want a good dual line in my bag that will be easy to trick. Andy said the Challenger would do that. I just am looking for the reassurance so I don’t waist the cash. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  3. Skill level I would put myself at a intermediate level. I can preform some basic tricks, but not proficiently. I would not be beginner level at all. I would say timing of hand movements and skill level of kites have held me back. My back issue is lower lumbar pain issue from spondylitis from degenerative joint issues (old age truck driver). I am getting better at half axle into a back flip with my 4D in low winds. I can do axles and sometimes do a pancake into a fade, but usually end up into a nose dive into the ground. It is tough for me to do the sudden run down wind to accomplish some maneuvers. I also have arthritis in the knees from skiing injuries. I like large kites with floaty maneuvers but still like the snappiness of a cascade. Alex said the challenger would be easier for my skill and ability to trick even over the jinx and Tica. Bret mentioned the Tica would be better for me because of being more forgiving on the hand movements. Financial situation is tight. I only have $200 at this point, but hoping some of my artwork may sell to finance the rest otherwise I will be waiting till the end of August. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  4. Thinking of an older overweight man with a bad back which would be a better suited Kite for me? Andy made a pretty convincing argument for the Challenger vs his Jynx model being he feels the Jynx would demand a more seasoned pilot. I asked what his thoughts on the Tica. He said Tica is a good kite, but He mentioned the Tica is a bit larger which would require larger more aggressive moves. I am looking at all three in Standard and trying to decide which to buy soon. 5. I am trying to sell some artwork to fund the purchase of one of these two kites. Hoping there is something out there. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  6. Okay I have been practicing clockwork over and over and I have no trouble on the front side going from 12 to 2 to 3 to 4 and 6, but when I go from 6 to 7 I end up in a swoop up to 12. It also happens going the other direction. Always from the downward hover on 6. Any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  7. For some reason my brain was thinking the tying above the shortest knot was the sport position. This of course creating 4 tie on positions. I think there was air in my head and the sail. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  8. Just got a Djinn Standard and found on the sync bridal it had 4 knots instead of 3 like the mid and full vent models. Which knot works best in light winds? Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  9. Well I should have done this sooner, but I am 58 and I live in Western NY. That’s right not much beach time. I am disabled and an x trucker by a job, but an artist by nature. I have been drawing and painting since I was 7 and my specialty is airbrush art. I have been flying stunt kites since 97. I just picked up Quad kites a little over a month ago and fell in love. 10. Good to know. I have them on my Christmas list, but I seriously doubt my daughters will get me some. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  11. Definitely novice at this point. I have only snagged twice so far. I was mainly think for light wind situations. I am not even sure what intermediate would look like. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

    Handles

I was looking at a pair of 15” Rev handles and was wondering if the added 2” truly helps on light wind days? Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  13. Would it be safe to fly a Full Vent Djinn on 35’100# line on a 15 mph day? Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  14. I have seen quite a few photos of Prism Kites being flown in the snow and I was not sure if the ripstop nylon or Icarex sails would tear mor easily in freezing temperatures. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  15. At what temperature does the spars and sail become to brittle for safe flying? Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
