  1. Thank you midibot. My Husband says he enjoys flying his NSE better only because he is used to flying kites the way they used to be built where the hand movments needed to be much more animated. Where as the newer made kites require such a fine touch. He is getting more and more use to the Dream Machine and is starting to enjoy it more. He is a huge fan of the Jam Session. Oh and it is a new Dream Machine, custome made. 🙂
  2. Hello everyone. I just wanted to say thank you everyone for all your advice. We finally were able to figure out what the problem was. It ended up being a problem with the spine. A fitting that was at the top of the spine at the nose of the kite had slipped which resulted in making the spine shorter and loosing the sail. My husband was able to fix it and the kite is back in like new condition. Happy flying everyone! -Kite Girl
  3. Hello everyone. I am looking for some help with tightening up the sail on a Dream Machine that I got for my husband. Not sure how to go about it since a lot of the things are glued in place on the spine and on the leading edge. Does anyone have any experience with tunning up a Dream Machine that could give me some pointers or even just some one with a bit more knowledge about how those types of things are done. Thank you in advance. *Happy flying* - Kite girl
  4. I have just recently got a New tech Techno kite... It looks like the previous owner might have done some modifications on it.. I was wondering if you happened to know where I could find the factory specifications on the kite... including standoff length and top spreader length and Bottom spreader length as well ..

    Thank you in advance.

    Good Winds

      Hi Kite Girl.

I am not personally familiar with the kite but found the following information on it (attempts to post a link were futile but copied this info you request):

      Top spreader: 7.5 mm / P200 Graphite 56cm

      Bottom Spreader: 7.5 mm / P200 Graphite 74cm

Standoffs: apparently there are three sets according to the reference I have. Make sense?

Inner and centre standoffs are stated as 3mm carbon 24 or 25 cms (for both, so seems to be variable?) and the outer is apparently 2mm fiberglass 23cm.

There is also some data on the kite on the Windpowersports site which specifically refers to Sky Shark spars, and includes a bonus video of a kiwi flying it:

Don’t know if New Tech is still around but I hope this helps at least a little bit.

  5. My husband and I just got our first Rev quad kites... and well we are having a bit of trouble with setting up the lines.. are both sets of lines equal in length? If they are different which ones go on top and which ones go on the bottom? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! 💨
  6. That you very much Bob L ... the lines I am using now i think are either 80lb or so.. I will try a much lighter line and see if that solves the problem.
  7. Hello everyone. I am hoping someone might lend me some knowledge on how to fix a issue that i have been having. I recently got my husband a DM Sul and of course I had to go test drive it and experience how it flew. lol And so i am running into a problem when i go to lay it back into a turtle, it slides towards me so at such a pace that i can not back up fast enough to me to get the slack out... lol is it me or the kite? lol is there anyone that would be able to lend some advise to this new beginner. -Kite Girl
  8. Hello everyone my name is Kite Girl and I am a new sport kite flier. I just started to fly stunt kites as of March of this year. My husband got me going on it as he is no stranger to stunt kites and even use to own a kite store in Oroville CA some time around 1995 until around 2003 He also some time around 1997 opened a second store in the Chico Mall. Anyway ... he had gotten back into flying kites recently with this Covid-19 social distancing thing started and encouraged me to give it a try. As soon as I tried I was hooked lol. I got my first kite Hydra and absolutely in love with it. Its addicting trying out new tricks and perfecting them as well as very therapeutic flying kites. I am sure you all will know what I mean when i say there are just no words to describe what an amazing feeling it is to be out flying your kite on a perfect day. So that is how I got started in this sport. A little bit more about me personaly is I am a mother of 3 amazing kids. 1 girl(12) and 2 boys ages 4 and 6. I have been married to my amazing husband almost 11 years and he is the love of my life and my absolute best friend. I look forward to being a part of this kite family and Im sure ill be on here asking many a questions as I learn new things. - Kite Girl

@Kite GirlI've never had a Jam Session.. I think you are referring to the Karma Drawing. The Karma drawing has some specific rules..

  11. Hello. I am new to this forum so I apologize if I am going about this the wrong way. I am looking for a jam session for my husband who is dying of cancer. He use to fly kites back in the day and had a jam session that he dearly loved. I would like to bring the joy of flying that kite back to him. Is there anyone here that would be able to help. I will buy or trade. Kite Girl JG
