  1. Kent eventually comes through. In my experience he doesn't respond to emails very quickly, but then again I'm not exactly the most patient person in the world. I would order from him again, but would be prepared for a slower response than I would like. FYI - this was not a custom order. It was a stock blue color that Kent didn't have in the store.
  2. I ordered a Blast late September from them and Kent contacted me to say they didn't have the color I wanted. He said that he would contact Revolution to order the kite. 3 days pass with no update. Something didn't feel right with me about this, so I canceled the order. On Sunday, there was a kite box on my front porch from Revolution and A Wind Of Change. I opened the box and inside was a Blast the same color as the one I canceled 5+ weeks ago. It seems that I'm doing business with them again whether I like it or not! I sent Kent an email telling him that I received a Blast by mistake, and that I would be happy to return it to him. A few hours later, I decided to keep the kite and told Kent by email that the simplest solution would be for me to keep the kite and for him to rebill my credit card. He called me Monday morning and I paid for the kite.
  3. It seems that this is a thing now. Oddly, myself and 3 other quad flyers were flying in the dirt area yesterday evening and nobody said anything to us. Maybe it won't be enforced?
  4. I was there today and all seems to be well. Buggy guy was there and people were flying in the dirt area. Totally forgot about this spot. I think that I've parked there before a long time ago. It's small though.
  5. Oh no that's terrible. I wonder how it will be enforced? People have been flying there for a long time. I wonder if people are hitting the power lines?

    Is that white screen material?
  7. The fulcrum looks really cool. When you spend $400 on a Rev, you know what your getting. $400 on a fulcrum is kind of risky if you don't really connect with the kite. I'd love to try one before buying.
  8. Hey Niell G, thanks for the info. I'm really curious about the meteor, but can find zero information on it. It's probably the most inexpensive quad on the market right now. Is the sail flat or does it have more of a 3D shape?
  9. Every time I drive past it's empty and roped off. It was always open before.
  10. Yeah, it's mildly infuriating that parking on weekends is bad but there's this huge empty parking lot that's roped off.
  11. That huge lot right before the gate is always closed. 🙁
  12. Oops. Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, Ca
  13. Where's the best place to park at Shoreline when the parking lot is full?
  14. Just to clarify, the kit is meant for the Quantum pro. Sure, you can put them on a standard quantum, but no directions are given on where on the leading edge to place them or how to modify the sail to accommodate them.
  15. Yes, that actually makes sense. I ditched the tent pegs and got a prism stake which is a lot better. Gotta have the right tool for job. I keep an eye out for other flyers and usually go talk. I've met NateyLB and Zuul already. I usually try to go after work on week days to avoid the crowds. I do go on weekends too. I'll be looking for you 😉.
  16. I'm getting too old also. I have a rev power 2-4 that would work that is much safer because it's so easy to kill the power.
  17. LOVE my HQ Crossfires..Also the 8M Toxic is a sail to be respected..but those are all powerkites and INTENDED to move the flier in some form. True. I used it for a land board on the beach. The crossfire's are fun kites, but I'd recommend replacing the cheap HQ kitekillers. I NEVER let go of the handles so I never thought I would ever use them. When you're hovering 6 feet off the ground looking at the parking lot, you have to let go of the handles 😂. The kitekillers instantly ripped away from the wristbands.
  18. Yes, I have a 5 meter Crossfire that tried to kill me.
  19. You're right. The website calls them magic sticks.
  20. Actually, I think it's 1 vertical per side with magic sticks!
  21. The 4WD looks fantastic! It looks like it has 3 vertical spars per side? It's only 199 euros, I'm definitely going to consider this one. https://www.andykites.com/catalogo-catalog/aquiloni-kite/4wd-for-wind-drive/
  22. Sorry for the slightly click baity title. It's better than A noob's review of Veraton I guess 😜. I asked riffclown to make this to replace my lost Rev 2, and while it is a 72" Hadzicki style wing, it's not a direct copy of the Rev 2 nor was it intended to be. I will be comparing Veraton to my Rev 2 however. Appearance: This is the perspective style design similar to riffclown's #21-24 and #74. It might not be for everyone, but I really like it a lot. It's appearance in the sky is mesmerizing. Onlookers watching the kite tend to go into this trance like state. Especially if I say something like "look deeply into the kite! or "Are you feeling sleepy? YOU ARE GETTING VERY SLEEPY!!"😉. Build Quality: I tend to buy factory made kites with the rational that you can often buy 2 factory made kites for the price of one boutique handmade kite. I have flown such kites and it's pretty obvious why people buy them. I would put Veraton into this later category. The stitching is high quality and there's many improvements over the original Rev 2. Reinforced leading edge, T-connectors for the top vertical spars, heavily reinforced bottom area of verticals spars, triple stitched trailing edge, are among the many improvements/features. Performance: This kite is quite fast when the wind picks up. It definitely will go to 11. Inputs seem more direct and precise compared to the Rev 2. Inverted side slides are very easy across the the whole window. Reverse flight is there, but I need to fine tune the brakes a little. The wind has been poor at Shoreline, so this so far is only based on 1 hour flown in light to moderate wind with occasional gusts. Tricks: This is an axel machine. Tug too hard and you get double axels. Need more time flying to access but I'm not really that great at tricks. My initial assessment on a limited amount of flight time is very favorable and I'm very pleased so far. I may add more information and videos when the wind picks up.
  23. Got the kite today and got to fly it briefly after work. It looks fantastic and flys better than my original Rev 2. Will post a review soon.
  24. Thanks, it's exactly what I was hoping it would be. Will hit Shoreline next weekend!
