Cotturj, do you know of any good wide open public places to fly in Chesapeake ? We have flown at the YMCA here which is pretty good if the wind is from south. Riff have you chatted with John lately, wonder if he is still flyin? Ej

Hey Cotturi, I am in Currituck, and have flown with Riff ,, and a couple other local quad line flyers, I am hoping to meet up with them sometime soon to fly again maybe you can join us. Weather is starting to cool enough to where it it will be comfortable and fun. Ej

First one I remember the name of was a Peter Powell Stunt in the mid 70's, had several paper 10-15 cent kites in 60's. They were all fun.

Alex,,, I wonder the same thing,, OSK kites seem to be well received, and I also am curious how the windrider line which is made by the same company (Freilein) stacks up.

The pleasure was mine , flying several of your great flying kites + a couple of Shook meshes + getting to watch and learn from you , Jim Cosca, and Eliot Shook all fly was great , especially for a newbie like me. Not to mention the pointers that I received from you guys. Yesterday and today were a blast. Ej

The wind was up and I have never flown a 72", Riff let me try it out and it was sweet, may have to get one at some point. -

I print with a flexible plastic (TPU) or a hard plastic, (PLA), the hard plastic prints a much nicer looking part, the TPU is a little tougher to print but it seems to make a flexible durable part. There are many different types and colors of filament which you feed the machine to try and get the wanted results. The modeling software allows you to change most any dimension of the part fairly easily, I am trying to learn the software as I go, anyhow its all fun. Ej

3D printing is also a hobby of mine,,,designed and printed some end caps with a pocket for the knot. I think they will help me with some of the snags. They are a little larger and about a gram heavier than the normal ones. Will be a little more difficult to adjust tension because the tails on the knots need to be removed. Made some LE tees with angle to match the kite, printed on left. Whats cool about printing these parts is the frame size or most any other parameters can be easily adjusted. What do you folks think ... I may be putting some of these files on Thingiverse at a later date, not sure, still tweaking them now. Ej

Guess I was "thinking out loud", didn't realize there was a problem with that and I apologize. The 5 quads were from an estate sale in Albuquerque and thought someone may recognize them or have known their history, not that that is relevant to anything, more curiosity than anything else. I will try and refrain from "thinking out loud " in the future. Is there a place where I can read the rules for posting? Ej
