  1. Yeah, around january our culture program holds a big kite festival, I made some invisible fighters and caused some mass damage to other fighters, they provided us with glass thread which was great but I need to order better quality from India. What winds do you fly 7 inch kites in. It is pretty dangerous to fly a fighter with other expensive kites in the area but, I went to walmart and bought some drop line which isn't the best but it gets the job done for kite line, I flew my fighters at the big kite festival that is hosted by ABC every year in Austin. Fighters can also achieve breathtaking heights, During the kite festival (which is a plane free zone) atleast the one hosted by my cultural program, we tied like 9 spools of thread together and sent a kite ultra high and managed to bring it down without it breaking, fun times.
  2. We had a surprise kite festival, it was pretty fun and I flew my dual line
  3. yeah! having fun is wayy important, Im visiting disney universal and all of that. Im starting up a pressure washing business but only after I get my drivers license and get a bike. You should probably change your country to the states, it says afghanisatan by default
  4. havent recieved the parts or icarex yet but I have exams so I have been using every free moment to study, I am ordering the parts tonight so I can finish a kite before I head to orlando for the summer
  5. Il be waiting for that fulcrum, where do you get your handles from? Besides that, did you know you can hook up 4 lines to a rok and fly it like a quad, go to youtube for more but I think its pretty cool
  6. yeah, what projects are you planning on next? something with more techniques like applique maybe?
  7. yeah I am going to make the sail look nice and all and spar it temporarily with these cool long and thick skewers I found then just order some online.
  8. Till my order comes, I am building a 6 foot rokkaku out of this really thin tarp I found at harbor freight. I will try to make it a hard worker so I have something to chuck in the sky if I have no other kite.
  9. what specifically would be good for framing one
  10. Think I should make one out of those cheap harbor freight tarps?
  11. How much is icarex, and what kite should I make from a small amount of some leftover icarex one of my other broken kites, I do have spars that I can saw but they are from the kite that wont fly (aliexpress haha). Do you think a mini rev is feasible or will it only fly in high wind, I have around a yard of icarex
  12. Hope you have fun, I dont do much social media as I dont own a phone out of choice but I hope it was better than Austins kite festival, it was really humid that day.
  13. Yeah im going to get to work but till the stuff I ordered comes, I am going to repurpose 2 kites that never flew and make them into fighters, the icarex is phenomenal on those but the kite is trash. Im practicing my sewing skills so I dont waste the icarex, I am making an essentials kite, maybe you should check it out for your next project but here is where I found it:- https://watty.us/kite-plans/2022/3/13/essentials Does the fulcrum kite look like this?
  14. that is one tiny kite, by the way. I went to the sewing machine repair shop, it is in downtown Austin to it was really old but the ladies were nice but too talkative, they quoted 8 weeks waiting and 28 dollars for easy fixes and for most fixes it was 100+. I literally paid 25 dollars for the machine, they tried to sell me and my dad a 400 dollar + machine. I told them I was a beginner and my dad doesn't know much so they prolly tried to take advantage of it. Anyway I came home and was like: "why not" and opened the machine with my dad (he likes these types of projects). Immediately 2 set screws fell out, I literally put them back in and the machine works like new, didn't even have to fix the bobbin timing. I hope you enjoy the kite festival, take lots of pictures to post here. Austin's kite festival was pretty fun, I got to see some trick fliers in action. What material do you use for the spars on your fighters? I use bamboo that I collected during the Indian kite festival that happens every year. I had a limited quantity but I used them all so now I cant even make fighter kites. Anyway il be waiting for those stunt kite pics
