  1. Anytime, I just hate spam. I am actually better at HTML than I am at javascript. If you need any help on anything, shoot it my way. As long as the wind is not too good I will be happy to help you out.
  2. Here is a simple script I wrote to scramble your email address so that spiders do not get it from your web pages. Let me know if you need any help with it. Just cut and paste the section between the asterisks and then change the areas that are marked. ******************************************************************** <!--Scrambled Email Address Code--> <script> <!-- function escramble(){ var a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i a=' b=' enter the first part of your email address here. example: staff ' c='\">' a+='lt' a+='o:' b+='@' e='' f=' enter the text you want displayed here. example:click here to email me. ' b+=' enter your domain here. example: yourdomain.com ' b+='?Subject= enter the subject of your email here. example: I want information. ' g=' h=' if you have an image for your email, enter the path here. ' i='\" alt="Email us." border="0">' if (f) d=f else if (h) d=g+h+i else d=b document.write(a+b+c+d+e) } escramble() //--> ********************************************************************* Only use the part between but not including the asterisks. All entries must be done between the ' ' single quote marks. The single quote marks must be used and cannot be deleted. If you do not want to use an image, leave that area blank but leave the ' ' quote marks. The same if you do not want to automatically insert a subject into your e-mail. When entering in your information, delete all text between the quote marks and replace it with your own. Example, change the following line from this: b+='enter your domain here. example: yourdomain.com' to look like this: b+='kitelife.com' If you do not want an image or alternate text in place of your email address, delete the red text in those fields and leave only the single quote marks like the following: f=' ' (no alternate text will be displayed.) h=' ' (no image will be displayed.) Thats about it, feel free to ask if you have any other questions. This code can be inserted anywhere in your HTML page. No other code is necessary for it to properly work. Hope this helps you out.
  3. We buggy on grass every Friday night at our local buggy spot, it does take a lot more to get you going than the dry lake bed, the infield of the ball diamonds can be fun tho. Going to be heading up to Utah to try some buggying on the salt flats in a couple weeks, first time for me and will have to see how it goes. When the wind is garbage for the park we usually head straight for the lake beds the next day, even in light winds you can catch some serious speeds. Hop on a flight to Vegas Peggy and we'll do some night buggying!
  4. Hey Penny, I can send you one of those baseball caps that hold the two drinks on either side with a tube for drinking....put the rum in one side and a coke in the other and fly till your kite (or you) hit the pavement!
  5. The Rev II is actually still being produced, it is usually only produced with one run a year on them and the stock goes fairly quickly. There is still a small demand for these kites but not nearly as much as the other sizes (EXP and 1.5 in perticular). I have sold quite a few Rev II's to customers on a special order basis and last time I checked (couple weeks ago) there are still some Rev II's availiable from this years run. The Rev I is still being produced on a regular basis and any shop should be able to get you one if they don't have one already in stock. If you are interested in purchasing a Rev II, contact your local Rev outlet and they should be able to get you one, color choice may be limited to remaining stock.
  6. Putting a little bit of stress on that puppy aren't ya!?!? I had mine pop out on me several times, the worst ones are when you are performing a dive stop in very strong winds -OUCH I tightened mine up right away. I also ran the bungee all the way around and tied it together in a knot instead of using the plastic washers and knot system to hold them into the sail. Run your spar between the bungee knot and the sail and then stretch the cap onto the end. Helps keep the spars intact a little better when the wind is kicking. On my SS it seems that the tighter the sail is the better the performance. Haven't really tried it indoors and don't usually bother getting it out in light winds. Guess I am just a power junkie.
  7. Yup, if you pull the end cap off you can see the aluminum - pretty thick piece too. The handles are pretty comfy but you have to hold on to them very low on the handle, not like any other rev I have ever flown before. For floating....you really can float this baby easy. Just drop the brakes out and the power is gone! Little tug on the upper lines and it is like flying a frisbee. Pull the brakes in and you better be dug in pretty good. Really is an awesome kite to fly. Found it is easier to control while in the buggy tho - once you get your buggy up to the speed of the kite just park it and when you want the turbo to kick in, bring in the brake lines a little more. If you have had enough, drop the brake lines out and relax - instant depower. If you get the chance to fly one of these things be sure not to pass on it.-----I think my arms have stretched a couple inches...have to take some measurements next time...
  8. The end kite in my stack also seems to get whipped around a bit, especially after abrupt maneuvers. I was going to try and shorten the brake lines going to the last kite by an inch or two to try and slow it down a little and see if it behaves a bit better. Might help a little, not sure. Will let you know what the outcome is when I get the chance to try it. I have stacked a couple Guerilla kites together and had to shorten the rear lines on the second kite by 6 inches to help correct the same problem - last kite seemed to be chasing the front kite - bounce back and forth. Shortening the rear lines worked great on the Guerilla's but the Rev's are definately a different monster.
  9. what kind of kite is it? Brand, manufacturer? If it is a foil type kite (ram-air foil) it is possible that all the bridle lines could be the same lenght to keep the shape of the foil in the right position for the proper angle of attack. The foil itself would be differently shaped with internal battons and struts to create the lift/drag needed to get the kite off of the ground. Does the kite fly properly? If so then I would guess the bridle is fine and wouldn't mess with it. If the kite does not fly properly and the bridle appears to be adjustable, some adjustment in the bridle may be necessary. Before making any adjustments I would mark the lines with a permanent marker in an area that can be used for a good reference (usually at the knot) before performing any adjustments (if it is not already marked). That way you can always get it back to the original position. Good luck!
  10. Thanks, It sure is a blast to fly. It draws some serious attention as well, the few times I have had the stack out I have formed quite a crowd of amused bodies - and quite a few cameras as well. Unfortunately I think they were more interested in the kites than in me! Funny how that works.... <_< You can thank Lolly for the color scheme as I left it totally up to her judgement on the colors - she came through wonderfully as usual. I think the stack is gorgeous and I couldn't have done better myself. The pictures come close, but still not nearly as beautiful as watching it fly in person. I'm stoked! Can ya tell????
  11. What I did was simply make a 4 inch loop out of some sleeved 500# spectra I had laying around. Larks head the loop to the bottom of the handles and then larks head the flying line directly to the knot of the loop. That way my lines are still the same length if I ever want to transfer them onto another kite/setup. On my power kites I have extension leader lines on all of them to make line adjustments quick and simple. Tie several knots appx. 2 inches apart along the leader lines and then just move your larks head as the lines stretch or wind conditions change. On the normal setting without the extensions, I was flying the stack with the bottoms fully extended towards the kite just to try and dump some of the power out of the stack while it was at zenith and to get some speed in the stack while flying through the window. Bringing the handles in about half way to normal flying position sent the stack in a 360 and it was a very delicate balance to try and land. I dropped off 4 of the rear kites without using the extensions and the effect wasn't nearly as noticable as when all 8 kites were on....so I assume that with 2 - 4 kites stacked on the extension lines may not be necessary. Next time the wind is a little stronger I am going to try 4 kites with the extensions to see how it handles. Next time you have your stack out you may want to try some short extensions on the brake lines and see how she flies, might be surprising.
  12. Howdy, I took a bunch of pictures of my Revolution stack and of the new Power Blast 4-8. I made them in several different resolutions for use as wallpaper if anyone is interested. They're sure to brighten up your monitor. Revolution Pictures & Wallpapers Hope you like them!
  13. Well, happy B-day. Guess you will have to start budgeting your kite spending money a little more closely now....decisions decisions....a new kite or that polished up walker?....course that wheelchair may be a good choice as well, wonder if I can decorate the seat in rip stop to match my hawaiian? Happy B-day and may you have many many more.
  14. Ok. The wind stopped blowing for a while so I got a picture of the handles.
  15. Got my power blast 4-8 in and have been able to do some boarding and buggying with it....awesome kite with some incredible power. Was out on the dry lake bed last weekend buggying with the 4-8 along side of my buddy on his JoJo 5m. I had more speed and better upwind (and I am about 75 pounds heavier than he is). The kite dumps 99% of the power instantly making straight downwind launches no problem at all. The hardest thing with this kite is just trying to get the buggy speed up to match the kite as it hits the edge of the window so quickly. Couple loops back into the window does the trick pretty quick and then park and hang on! Very impressive for sure - love this thing! Here's a picture of it sitting next to my 1.5 stack at the park. Yup, it's big!
  16. Ok...I added a 4 inch extension to the brake lines of my stack and it made a world of difference. The stack was more controllable and didn't feel like it was going to yank my arms out of their sockets ALL THE TIME. he he. Was able to actually float the stack across the grass upside down in both directions now....totally awesome. Going to break out the video camera next time I go out. Here's a pic for ya'll. And that is the Power Blast 4-8 off to the side. Got more pics too, if anyone is interested I will be happy to put them up.
  17. Thats a beutiful thing - love the colors too! I am going to have to get some pictures of my 1.5 stack for ya'll. Question....have you found that the brake lines on your stack are very tight? When I was flying my rev stack the brake lines had to be nearly completely out (loose) to fly it properly. I talked to another pilot who has flown rev stacks and he said that a small leader line needs to be added to stacked revs to get the brake lines back to where they normally fly? Any info on this would be great, going to add a short (4") leader line to my brakes the next time I fly the stack and see how that goes. Happy Winds! 18. Hold on to your handles....there is now a new rev handle out. My Power Blast 4-8 came in and it has 3/4" aluminum wrapped carbon handles with firm grips. Lengh is about 15-20 inches long and has two bends in it. I will try to get some pictures of the handles and the kite as soon as I stop having so much fun flying the thang! BTW, I was out on the 4-8 blast in 4-7 mph winds and was running away from my buddy who was flying his 5 meter Jojo. He was quite impressed. Happy Winds! 19. I can contact Revolution for you and may be able to have some custom Rev II's made for your stack. I would suggest having at least the first two made with heavy frames to support the others. I am not sure if they will be able to make some Rev II's as that kite is usually only made once a year and in limited colors. Never hurts to ask tho. Lolly was kind enough to put together a custom stack of 8 1.5's for me and the first four have extra heavy frames. Incredible amount of pull and you are right, it really does draw attention. Revolution does sell a stacking kit as well. It includes 7 stacking lines with a clip for the center line. Happy Winds! Kent www.awindofchange.com customerservice@awindofchange.com
  20. Gotta get that super blast out on a buggy, totally amazing. Be prepared to do some serious explaining to all the other kiters out there that can't keep up with you in the speed and upwind departments. Happy Winds Kent
  21. Hi everyone, hope I am not jumping into something that I shouldn't be. Just stumbled onto the forum here and found many of the topics very interesting. First post for this forum and hope to fit in with ya'll. That is the power blast 4-8. That picture was taken at the KTAI in Clearwater Florida. I am trying to remember exactly and think the leading edge is about 14 feet - it stood close to 5 foot tall. That thing pulls like a bus! Tremendous amount of power. We were flying it in 5-8 mph winds and digging some pretty serious trenches in the sand with it. I have one on order that should be here by the end of next week. When it arrives I will get some exact measurements off of it if anyone is interested. Should get some pictures as well if the wind cooperates. I currently have the Blast and the Power Blast 2-4 (Super Blast 2003). BTW, if anyone doesn't know the reason behind the 2-4 and the 4-8, a 2-4 is a 2 meter kite that pulls like a 4 meter, the 4-8 is a 4 meter kite that pulls like an 8. Hope to talk to all of you a bunch! Happy Winds! Kent www.awindofchange.com customerservice@awindofchange.com
