  1. Got a SE. Come out to Delta Park & give it a workout. Sherrell
  2. spz-- you need to drag your arse out to Delta more often. I'm out there about 4:00 3-5 days a week. Glad to work with you anytime. sherrell
  3. Never less than 120' of 30#,50#,90# unless flying space is restricted. More repetitions of gravity dictated tricks & bigger window for figures.
  4. If you are flying mostly in Portland make sure it's a UL. We only have about 10 days a year with enough air for a Std. I'm using a SUL 95% of the time at Delta Park & 50% @ the coast.
  5. For a little variation: Roll out of the fade, flip into the turtle, 180 lazy (now the hard part) instead of flipping 360 to the fade again, flip only 270 to nose down then pop one line so the kite rotates into the turtle position again. Lazy 180 & repeat the 270, etc. part. This little exercise will sharpen your reflexes.
  6. Fearless SUL. Perfect for the lower wind ranges & does it all. Most if not all of the SULs do not have the repertoire of tricks the Fearless does. I've tried most of the others & they don't measure up. imho
  7. when you roll out of the fade try popping when you have the nose more near the down vertical position. Some kites tend to do big backwards, incomplete loops when the nose is too horizontal. Also, try not to power up the kite at all before popping. Roll it out-no tension in the lines-pop. I've found suls especially sensitive due to their lack of spar mass. All to be taken with a grain of salt.
