  1. That is a great idea! I'll try both settings but I will probably favor the turbo as well.
  2. Well, my Silver Fox 2.5 UL showed up on Satuday. I was pretty impressed with Fun With Wind. I ordered it late Wednesday. They didn't mess around getting it shipped. They kite does seem well made and I love the wrapped carbon frame. The little plastic balls on the harness was new to me but seems as though it would make changing the set up easy. The only thing I found wrong with the kite was one of the knocks were not glued in. So I just added some medium super glue. Was easy enough to fix. It has been fairly windy so I have not flown it yet. My 5m Haka has been the kite of choice lately. :-) I am looking forward to flying it.... Thanks for the advice everyone!
  3. Hey All! Thanks for the help. Today I ordered a Silver Fox 2.5 UL in silver. I will probably get it sometime next week and I am looking forward to it...... :-)
  4. Sweet thanks! Probably the UL will be a good option in 2.5.
  5. If I go with the Silver Fox which size would be optimal? The 2.3 or 2.5? Std or UL?
  6. Yeah that is a nice looking kite! Anyone try the new MyOne from Level One Kites?
  7. Price a factor? Ummm, sort of. Since I am a beginner at stunts I can't justify spending almost $300 for something I probably won't get the most out of. So until I get really good at tricks I may hold off on those. I am also looking at getting a smaller power kite (like a Sting) to add to my quiver. So I need cash for that too. :-) My 5m Haka is great fun but sometimes I would like something a little less intense. Back to stunt kites. The silver fox looks like it may be a great replacement for my Jam. Thanks for the help guys!
  8. Hey Everyone! I have an old Black Rainbow Jam that has been a great kite but it is hard to trick on and is starting to show its age. At first I thought a Prism E2 might work but after some reading it seems it will probably be more compairable to it than an upgrade. I have also been interseted in the Jumping Jack Flash, EVO, Cavalier du Ciel Shiva, and a couple L'Atelier kites. I really need some direction. As far as tricks go I basically am a beginner. But I have been flying for many years on and off for fun. Will a slightly lighter wind kite typically trick easier? Say 2 - 18mph rather than a kite with a 5 -25 mph range? Knowing this will help me narrow it down as well. Thanks in advance.
  9. I actually bought my Rev from them. But it was about 4 years ago.....
  10. I am all about supporting a local business and will pay more (within reason) for the product knowing that they have serious overhead. With that said I think the biggest problem is that people are so worried about getting a better deal and saving a few bucks that they miss out on the bigger picture.
  11. Lol I figured as much. How can I hijack my own thread?!? Positive is always a good thing. I am usually the last one to complain. My wife gets on me about that when we are out at say a restaraunt and my order is not correct or something. I just don't say anything and eat it anyway. I understand that mistakes are made once in a while. However I believe in good customer service and I will pay more for the same product to get that service. I have had good customer service with The Kite Shoppe as well. Although I have yet to place an order with them (Jumping Jack Flash on my purchase list) they were very helpfull in explaining the kite in comparison with a couple others on my list. So when I do buy the kite they will get my business. Unfortunately the local kite store here closed down. I don't know if it was from lack of business or they just decided to retire. That puts me in the mail order catagory for my future kite purchases. I do have my own small business called The R/C Connection. My inventory consists of R/C cars and high powered rockets. Although it is just a consession and traveling shop at the moment (kind of just in limbo right now) I am looking forward to turning into a full blown store when I retire from the USAF in a few years. A while back I applied to carry Ozone kites and was approved but have yet to place on order. Maybe that will be on my things to do list when I return from the desert in September. It would be great to get some people in the area into kiting. DISCLAIMER: Since my business hsa been in limbo for a couple years this was not an advertisement.
  12. When is it going to be taking place?
  13. I have a rev but have only flown it a couple of times. It seems to like a good breeze to fly well. Anyway, I am stuck in the desert until September but when I return to Spokane I will have go down to the park. Are there other people that fly out there as well?
  14. Your in Deer Park?!? Cool! Your just down the road from me. What kites do you fly and where?
  15. I posted this on three forums. Within 30min of my post Tony responded. This was on the Powerkiteforum. Anyway, he explained that he gave me good customer service but that I was not his only customer. He said he gave 10% off etc. Which is true. But it went down hill after that. Anyway, when a customer sends an e-mail asking about an order (over$600) they should respond ASAP. I got the run around with vague answers. It took the complaint on the forum for him to respond. He stated that he didn't have any shirts in stock and he is sending me the shirt when it is in. If he would have sent a quick e-mail stating that it would have kept me from making the posts.
  16. After searching the internet I decided to order my 5 meter Haka from Bestkites.com. During my initial e-mails back and forth to them all was good. They seemed concerned about my interests in their products and responded quickly. Upon placing my order I thought it would be a good idea to get a wind meter. Since I found it other places on the net for $20 cheaper I asked if they would price match and the response was YES!! I then placed my order via the internet for the Haka and a wind meter. Since the order was placed over the computer at full asking price I asked if they could just include an Ozone T-shirt to cover the price difference for the wind meter. Again they said sure. I was later informed that the meter would not be in until the following week and did they want them to wait to ship them together or not. I opted for them to ship them separately. The kite arrived soon after with just the kite in the box. I was a little disappointed not to see a shirt in there. A week go by and I send out an email asking about my meter. After a 5 day wait they respond with it was sent out and they have a number to track it. 5 days later still no package. Again I place an e-mail to them with the same response. Of course I am getting upset at this point. Another week goes by and I place one more e-mail. Of course days go by before I get response and it was the same crap. Finally my package arrived a month later with just the wind meter, no shirt! After looking at the package is was post marked for the 20th and they said it was shipping on the 4th. Basically this is a case of we will do anything for our customer to get their money and then who cares. I had planned on purchasing another kite from them before they started ignoring me. So I ended up paying full price for a product they said they would price match. They should not tell a customer one thing and do another. I will never buy anything from them ever again. Oh, here is a copy of the e-mail I sent 5 days about the $20 and I still haven't received a response. Hey Tony! I finally received my wind meter the other day. It was post marked for the 20th. I thought you sent it out much earlier than that. Anyway, you mentioned that you would price match the wind meter. I thought a fair compromise would be an XL Ozone t-shirt. Do you have any you could send? Thanks! Greg
  17. After pondering many options the Jumping Jack Flash may be my next stunt kite. However I have been wanting a power/traction for 2 years now. Orignally the Ozone Samarai then the Riot and now the Riots replacement the Haka. After talking it over with the boss (wife) she let me order one. :-) Currently I am awaiting a 5m Ozone Haka in the black/orange/grey color scheme. Hopefully it will arrive Friday. Oh the anticipation is killing me..... lol
  18. Thanks All! I have really been checking out the Jumping Jack Flash. Of course I watched the video and it looks fantastic. Another trait I am looking for besides trickablity would be prescision. That kite seems pretty dialed in. It may be over my intended budget but you get what you pay for.... I am checking out the Silver Fox now....
  19. My last post was probably a little vague. So here it goes again. I currently fly a Black Rainbow Jam, a Prism Micron and a Revolution SLE. I would like to upgrade the Jam to another full size kite that is capable of tricking. I need something with a decent wind range say 3-20mph. My budget is around $150. Since I haven't been up on the new manufactures until just recently I was leaning toward a Prism E2. But since I have been looking it seems that there are also some other great quality kites out there such as Level One Kites. Please give me your recommendations. I definitely don't want junk. It doesn't have to be all that durable as I will fly it in suitable conditions. Since I will be leaving the country in a little over a week I would like to order one in the next day or two..... Thanks! Greg
  20. Hi Everyone! I have been flying an old Black Rainbow Jam (hope some of you remember this kite) for some time and the sail is starting to show wear. It is not as tight as it used to be etc. So I am now considering a Prism E2 as a replacement. I believe it is probably a better performing kite than the Jam but I have not flown one. Before I spend the money I want to make sure it is. What do you all think? Thanks! Greg
