FlyNy is a kite festival sponsored by the New York dept of parks. It is held in Riverside park on Pier one. This pier is located on the Hudson River at 70th street. Festival time is 11:00AM to 5:00PM. NYC parks gives away free kites for kids. There also kites available for purchase. Public transit is best for coming as parking in the area is difficult or expensive.

The Isla Blanca kite festival was started in 2009 by Charles and Dorothy Stewart. Held every year on the last weekend in Feb. In 2011 this is Feb 26th & 27th. It is a venue to delight children from La Casita,a local orphanage in Cancun, Mexico. Now heading to it's third year it has grown. In 2011 we will have a food sponsor and discount lodging for people who want to come fly kites and vacation while helping needy kids have fun.
