Short Description: CTC's Indoor Rev routine to a slowed down version of XX's Intro
Here's me flying an Indoor Rev Routine to "Intro" by the band XX for the Singapore Indoor Kite Festival 2012 organised by ACT3 International. The original version of the song is actually a little bit too fast in my mind so I found a slowed down remixed version and the resulting tempo seems just about right for the routine. I think I've locked down one song I can use for now.

Here's a short video of a 2nd time out flying a 2-stack Revolution Indoor Rev. 6 stack lines this time, tuning still in progress.
Handle in mouth one handed flying, reverse up and overs, flying sitting down (briefly), catch and throws are all surprisingly within reach.

Ditto most of what's been said. I wrote a comparison more than a year ago when they first came out. Cut and paste here:
Somebody once asked about comparisons between a Focus Kites Design's Skate and a Flying Wings Aerobe (now known as the Wala) and I did reply with some of my thoughts.
Here's a copy and paste of what I thought, and still think today. I think both of these kites are superb compliments to one another and if you are into highly maneuverable SLKs with great outdoor and indoor capabilities, these 2 kites are probably all that you'll need.
I think the Skate is best in true no wind environment as its gliding capabilities are simply awesome. It has more of a slo mo character. I wouldn’t fly it outdoors as a single line kite in 10mph-ish winds as well as the bow from the micro carbon across the spreaders can look pretty scary.
The Aerobe/Wala to me, is a much more versatile kite compared to the Skate. It looks more rugged and I'm not afraid to fly it outdoors in 10mph-ish wind. A nose dive with the Aerobe/Wala can be more re-assuring compared to a nose dive with the Skate. The ability to tune the Aerobe/Wala by switching the cross spreaders either to the front or back of the sail plus its multiple bridle tow points for tuning is also a plus point.
Obviously the Aerobe/Wala would need a bit more minimum wind compared to the Skate outdoors as a single liner as it is heavier. I would think the Skate would be great in super lab grade outdoors smooth SUL level beach wind though.
In short, I think the Aerobe/Wala is definitely value for money. It has a very high price to fun ratio, plus its versatility and its ruggedness to me is worth it.
Indoors, the Skate requires lesser effort. The ability to tune the nose weight using coins gives you multiple characteristics which can be extracted out of it as well. The Aerobe/Wala can still be flown indoors too, though a more active approach is required. I don’t think you can (unlike the Skate), set it up for momentum for a flat horizontal glide and just drop the line. You need to tend the tension all the time

I read about this kite that was made a long time ago, a radical kite named Stranger Level 7 by Andy Preston from UK. Since its out of production now I'm just curious if anybody knows where I can buy one?

I"ve been looking at www.weather.com for berkeley reports, as well as www.wunderground.com. Sadly as well I could hardly trust the reports I'm seeing. Most of the time I just head on down and hope for winds to descend.
Mostly I do not fly near the Marina Bay area (where Highline Kites normally park their trucks), but the large open field more inland over the hills..Not sure what the ground conditions was like for you back in the 90's but I attempted a few 360s on days where there was barely a whisper of wind and nearly twisted my ankles a few times. The ground is as uneven as I can get and I have to be careful where I step because hidden potholes can be found sometimes.

Hi,
I'm relatively new to the forum and sport kiting in general but I've got to say its one of the best "serious" hobbies I've picked up (since music).
I fly regularly in Cesar E. Chavez Park, Berkeley Marina, California , on weekends but drop down to ShoreLine park in Mountain View/Sunnyvale once in a while. Since I pick up this hobby right in the middle of summer this year I've never had to really worry about lack of winds.
However since Winter months are rapidly approaching I'd like to know if anybody knows the weather trend in the Bay Area as far as winds are concerned. I"m hearing that you either get periods of very little to no wind, or big intermittent winter gusts up to 20+mph? Looking for any flyers who've experienced this area to offer some advice. Since I'm looking so much forward to kiting every weekend I"m thinking of acquiring maybe an UL or SUL to tide me over the winter months...
Also no a related note..I"m also wondering if taking an half an hour drive down to Ocean Beach or Crissy Fields in San Francisco would help to cut down my windless frustation..as no matter how little wind there is at least it would be more consistent and smooth then the gust prone wind I've come to experience in Berkeley..
Advice anyone?

Thanks. I was thinking along this train of thought as well..Having a UL and a VTD seems to leave a hole somewhere in the 8 - 15 mph wind range for a suitable kite.
While on the subject of this I have a question though..What happens if you fly the UL in winds of like 15mph? Stress on the frames I know because they are ultralight frames and not as strong. I would think that the kite will fly a lot faster and be harder to control compared to a STD. Howabout the trickability of an UL under strong winds? Just curious to plough deeper into the mechanics of Kite Design..

I currently have a Silverfox 2.5 UL and I absolutely fell in love with it. Tricking this kite is real easy.
Where I live winds are kind of light but now and then when I take a trip to the beach I sometimes come face to face with 15MPH ++ winds, a range definitely outside the UL's capability.
I'm thinking of getting another silver fox to complete my arsenal of trick kites that have have widest wind range. For my UL, anything about 8mph the beast doesn't trick as easily..At the ocean with 15mph thats definitely out..I don't want to wreck my UL just yet..
Need suggestions hence. Should I get the STD or VTD? My main aim is to really find another silver fox where I can pull out when my UL seems to want to implode when the winds get really high, so I have 2 kites that can easily trick from winds as low as 1mph up to 25mph.
I see from Flying Wing's website that both of them have a minimum wind requirement (STD at 3 - 20mph, VTD at 3 - 30mph). How is the trickability and stability then at winds at maybe around 8mph - 20 mph? If I get a VTD how will it perform at say...6 - 8 mph for example..will it be as much of an effort to haul the VTD up the sky at that wind range?
Any advice appreciated.

Simply put, I love both to bits (with the occasional Indoor thrown in).
They complement each other in a way that makes the area of maneuverable kites complete
