I'm looking for a particular kite winder. I own one of them and they are so nice, I'd like to buy a few more. It's called a Chinese Kite Winder. It is plastic with steel bearings and is smooth as silk, winds fast and comes in 3 sizes. It was around $12 I think, a tremendous bargain. The smaller size holds 650 feet of 30 pound test. The larger sizes hold much more, I think it came in 3 sizes. I bought one from a US distributor but the website is gone now and google turns up nothing! Here is a picture of it, look at the blue winder at the bottom of the page. Your hand grips in the center of the hub and you wind the outside of the reel with a handle that folds in when not in use. The little gizmo that protrudes at about 4 o clock in the photo is the eyelet that the line threads through, so the line always goes on the reel no matter how the winder is held in the hand. http://www.airdynamics.co.uk/chinese_accessories.html My 10 year old daughter loves it too!
