  1. Hi All, Am planning on stacking 8 REV 1.5 SUL. Is there any photo or drawings to show the actual stacking lines? I understand it is 5 points to connect the train. Since the new SULs come with 3 wrap LE, I will be using these for the first 4 - 5 kites, will this be strong enough? Appreciate any inputs. Patrick
  2. Just received my Airwave and Aerobe Had fun with the Aerobe today, flown outdoor on indoor settings as there was no wind at all. Its my first time flying such a kite....what a refreshing feeling...single liner doing slow over the head, turning at the end of the line only to glide back! Very fun kite indeed. Airwave, still yet to take it out for some airtime.
  3. Best if you could first do the dihedral, then add an activator leg to make it tetrahedral, feel for yourself the results, if there's a diff. I may have slipped up in my construction, hence the little or no difference. Cuurently am busy or would have made another just for kicks!
  4. Anyone here flown Eolo's NEOX or OVER? Would appreciate reviews if any.
  5. I've tried both, maybe its just me, but can't really tell the difference between the tri and di.
  6. Yup, I did the dihedral active bridle qas explaqined by Andy's website. Superb modification, made the tracking that much better and the tricking was also not compromise, in fact much better! I constructed the whole bridle from scratch, but I added an out-haul, just for kicks to seee if I tweaked it, there;s any diff....well it does;)
  7. Hi, I know this thread's been more than 2 years! But I just started flying my Mohawk UL. Compared to another kite I have, the Mohawk seems reluctant to Fade or Flic Flac. Anyone here knows if a weight may be added to make this easier? Cheers. Patrick
  8. Yes indeed, I added a small weight by using a spare spar to spar connector, slot it into the spine, into the other hole of the connector, I added a small solid steel rod. I can easily change the weight by using different length steel rods on the fly;)
  9. Had to refresh this topic and John's awesome video... This is a post that all us newbees should take a look at! Something else! You make me smile! Jynx, check out this trick Rev video: RevTrickSchoolDIVX Download the video file and enjoy!
  10. Hi Penny, Thanks for the explanation....now I know why some pilots move their arms like paddling a bicycle Will definitely try out....
  11. WOW!!! That is CONTROL....man.... Thanks....will try your technique tips.
  12. Great tip! Thanks...will try it out later today
  13. Hi All, I have a Rev 1.5. I can do the basics, no problem at all. Now attempting to do the more "deliberate and slower" moves like clock turns. Currently, it always ended up as a fast spin ....so how is this controlled? Has it got to do with using extended handles? If so, what are the advantages of extended handles? Cheers,
  14. Hi Penny, the P200 framed REV II is now one of my kites that gets the most air time! Although not as fast as stock frame, it flies on much lighter wind, hence my inclination to re-frame the 1.5:)
  15. Hi, Was thinking of changing my REV 1.5 to Skyshark frame, what would be appropriate? I've changed my REV II to P200 Skyshark, but not sure if it'll work for REV 1.5. Any inputs appreciated. Good winds, Patrick
  16. Got one a few weeks back and on first flight it blew a wing tip spar (12 MPH winds). Replaced spar and tried again in 12-14 MPH. Kite is slow to respond, has a lot of over steer and is heavy(main spar) for the low end of the wind rating (3-18 mph). Would suggest that if purchased , first thing to check out is that all lines are connected (mine came w/ 3 bridle lines either not connected or very lightly tied). I have had very experienced quad line friends try this and they feel the same. Kite does offer some unique bridle adjustments ,so I'm not giving this a thumbs down until I can try them all in a reasonable fashion. Hopes this helps, Dave S Thanks for the update, looking forward to a more detailed review from you. Good winds.
  17. It was indeed very eye-catching! I hope that will promote the sport of stunt kiting here in Singapore. My original proposal was a custom red and white sail kite (patriotic colors), but can't understand why it became a grey SF,??. Anyway...it was a good run, shold do well on D-Day.
  18. Here's the .This is a rehearsal for Singapore's National Day Parade @ Marina Bay. Kites: SilverFox Vented.
  19. Ah...how i wish I have enough $$$
  20. Haha...that makes my choice a no-brainer! Thanks Antman. I too was attracted by the sail design, but hesitated due to my desire for better control.
  21. actually, I am caught between to very hard places...to buy a REV 1.5 SUL or the new P200 Spirit Quad Most quadies here fly the REV...so Anyman...a word of advise from you please, how does the Spirit compare with the REV 1.5?
  22. I've not flown one with Race Rods before...so can't tell the difference. But I do realize that the LE flex more than the regular, and it does fly slower than expected.
  23. Yo Antman, A UL Spirit Quad huh?? Well, check this out: http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?showto...rt=0#entry18362 I mod my REV with P200 as well, it definitely works in lower wind range.
  24. Two reasons I mod it to SUL and the LE to 3 pieces. 1) The winds here usually sucks and comes in little "farts"...know what I mean? 2) Portability - since I travel alot, the 3 piece LE made a huge difference, I can stuff it in my luggage bag! I agree the REVII is a blast to fly, although not precise, the speed makes up for the it.
  25. I have successfully modified my REVII into an SUL. I used Skyshark P200 rods, LE is a 3 piece job, 24.75" each and connected by solid carbon rods (internal ferrules). The 2 verticals are also P200s. Yesterday, it flew for the first time in winds of up to 3 knots (5 mph) and when it was down to a whisper, it still held its air with a bit of back-pedaling
